“No,” I said quickly before Sam could, “we can handle it.”

“So you got them all?”

“There’s one left,” I shook my head. “He grabbed me before I could get to it.”

“Then just leave it,” he waved his hand, “bugging one extra car isn’t worth the risk.”

“It’s King’s, Toni,” Sam said.

“It’s probably the one we need the most,” I added.

King was the head of the Redliners.

And though the conflict between The Family and the Redline Angels had been going on for a while, it had escalated when Ren had murdered King’s brother. At first, they just wanted power, they wanted to take over.

But now, they wanted revenge.

King was ruthless, from what I had heard, and he’s the one who had held Toni and Sam’s sister, Valerie, hostage.

They wanted blood.

From what I had gathered, they were actually succeeding in taking over some of The Family’s endeavours. So the easiest way to hit them, was to get to their resources. If they had nothing to sell, they had no income.

Without the cash flow, they would be reduced to nothing but numbers.

Then it was just a matter of thinning their numbers, and they would fade into the background and back down to nothing. They were a big group, but The Family’s influence was still bigger.

Antoni sighed and ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.

“Fine,” he groaned, “but be fucking careful, okay? No one else gets hurt. Rome will have your head if anything happens to Liv, Sammy.”

Sam nodded once, “no one will touch her.”

Something strange flipped in my stomach when he looked down at me, his eyes so serious when he made the promise to his brother. I quickly shook the intrusive thoughts away when we saw a Mini Cooper pull into the parking lot.

I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.

Of course she timed it perfectly that she would show up while Toni was here. Antoni looked over his shoulder in the direction of Larissa before turning and walking back towards his car.

“Call me when it’s done,” he shouted as he stepped into his low driver’s seat.

Sammy nodded once again, and I wrapped my arm around his waist as Larissa stepped out of her car.

He looked down at me, “Liv. We really don’t have to-”

“Shh,” I hissed as she walked towards us, her eyes narrowed towards me.

“Where’s Toni rushing off to?” She asked, pulling Sammy in close for a hug.

“Business,” Sam shrugged, patting her back and leaning into the embrace.

“Okay,” she smiled, “well thanks for fitting me in, Sammy. I appreciate it.”

“Anytime,” he smirked.

Larissa looked down at me, forcing a very aggressive and unfriendly smile at me.

“Hi Libby,” she said extra-sweetly.
