That I promise.

This is not where I thought my night was going to go after leaving that stupid party. Iwasin such a good mood. I got what I needed so I could start my plans.
Sadly, the night didn’t end on such a high note.
I followed her home, wanting-no,needing-to see her more. I got a small taste at the party, but it wasn’t enough. It will never be enough until I have her by my side forever.
She looked amazing in that costume, but she was showing too much skin for my liking. No one should see her like that except for me.
I am the only one allowed.
Once I make her mine, I will have to remind her of that fact. I know she won’t be receptive at first, but once she sees my point of view, she will understand that I am right.
I hated having to watch that man attack her, but there was nothing I could have done in the moment. Especially not when the Kings came barging in and “saved” the day.
I had to suffer through watching them hold her and console her. Had to hide behind a bush when Zeus and Odin came running out. They didn’t even notice I was there.Amateurs.I stayed in the bush until the paramedics arrived and they carted her out to the ambulance.
After that, I rushed to my car and drove to the hospital. The whole way there, I tried to produce an excuse why I would be there, in case I was spotted, but nothing made sense. So, I resigned to the fact that I would have to wait outside until I knew everyone was gone and I could walk in.
It didn’t take long for her mother to arrive, but it felt like a lifetime waiting for the Kings to leave.
Of course, only two of the three were outside, but I learned a lot of interesting things.
They know I exist for starters, but the biggest thing is Midas’s little secret. Him being behind this attack is perfect. I can use it against him. Poisoning the water between them.
The biggest question now is, do the others know, or was this all his idea?
I watch as Midas tugs on his hair. Anguish and despair lined his face. Satisfaction at his pain is the only thing I feel. But it will feel so much better when I use it against him. Midas storms back into the hospital with a look of determination. He can be as determined as he wants, but he will never be the one to get her in the end.
I continue waiting in the dark for my chance. Eventually, Midas and Odin leave. I wait for their bikes to disappear into the night before I walk into the hospital.
The place is clean, and the smell of chemical cleaners lingers in the air. There is no one here, not even someone at the reception desk. I walk past, keeping my head down. The last thing I need is a security camera capturing my face right now.
The elevator ride isn’t long, and another empty hall is in front of me. I walk past each room, looking through the small windows, hoping to catch sight of my obsession.
Her room is at the end of the hall, the last on the left. She looks so peaceful sleeping in an ugly hospital gown. A white bandage stands out against her tanned skin, but it doesn’t look like there is any other damage.
Her mother is sleeping in a chair next to her bed. Her head against the mattress as she clings onto Serena’s hand. The two of them look like they could be sisters instead of mother and daughter. The similarities are astounding. Same facial features and structure. Same blonde hair that shines even in the darkness of the room. But no one compares to Serena.
Serena looks the same as she did when I first met her. Though she didn’t know I existed back then, she does now. I have had to wait for her for far longer than I had anticipated, but she is worth it.
I brush my hand across her cheek, savoring the feeling of her warm skin against mine.
“Soon, little one. I will take you away from all this so we can be happy together.” I lean close and whisper into her ear.
I give her one long last look before making my way out of her room and out of the hospital.
I wasn’t lying. Soon she will be mine and only mine.
Serena
I crack my eyes open, and I am instantly blinded by the fluorescent lights above me. I have a slight headache, and my arm is killing me. I blink a few times, trying to get my eyes to focus properly. A heart monitor is beeping in the background. The smell of cleaners and disinfectants permeates the air. I slowly turn my head to the left and see a massive window that is definitely not mine. I turn to the right and see my mom sitting in a chair with her head on my bed, asleep.
There is a knock at the door, and before I can say anything, a nurse walks into the room. She looks to be in her forties. Her light brown hair is pulled back into a messy bun, and she has the most comforting smile on her face. She is wearing a pair of light blue scrubs.
I watch her as she quickly squirts some hand sanitizer on her hands and rubs it in as she walks over to me.
