Xander: Damn it! I bet she smelt amazing. What did she sound like?

Vashu: I wonder how she’d react to riding me.

Me: She’s not ready for sex yet, man.

Vashu: Not like that, if I shifted, and she rode my dragon dumbass.

Xander: WHAT DID SHE SOUND LIKE!!!

Me: She’s getting out of the tub, we’ll talk later! Let me know what you guys want to eat tonight.

I close my phone and head out to the kitchen. Doing a quick glance around, we are going to have to go shopping soon. There are a couple of cans of pineapple. I look at the paper with all the foods she likes. She’s come so far in such a short amount of time. I open up a can and pour it into a bowl for her. Right as I set it down on the table, she walks into the room. She is in a short summer dress, and there are little skulls all over it with pink bows. She is smiling at me with a hand behind her back.

“What are you hiding behind you?” I try to peek, but she moves so I can’t. I love seeing this playful side of her.

She holds out a stiletto. “What is this shoe and why does it have a spike on it?”

I laugh and explain it to her. She bends down and puts it on her foot. I look around for the other one, but she only brought out the one. She makes a face, like I just made her try a lima bean again.

“It pinches my foot. But I am taller in them!” She looks down at her foot. I can feel her thinking, and it takes all my self control to stay out of her head. “I don’t know if I like it or not. It doesn’t feel good, but I like feeling taller.”

I wouldn’t know how they feel. My mom always complains about them when she wears them and rubs her feet, but she always ends up wearing them when she has to go somewhere important. She takes it off and walks back to her room. I hear her stumble around a little and I rush down the hallway to her room. Did she fall or something? When I open the door, she is standing there in both heels, glaring at her feet.

“What’s wrong, sweet girl?”

“They aren’t easy to walk in. I feel all wobbly.” She bends down to take them off.

“It should get easier to walk in them if you practice, just like with raising your eyebrow. It will take some work, but it should be easier, eventually.” If she wears them to the ball, she’ll need to dance in them. I grab my phone and pick a song and set it down. I walk up to her and hold my hands out to her.

“If you wear them to the dance, you’ll need to dance in them. Come here sweet girl, close your eyes and just move your body with mine. Let me guide you. Don’t think, just feel.”

Farlen stumbles a little as she walks the four feet to me, but then I have her. She has two left feet, but she looks so beautiful like this. She is relaxed and is just letting me lead her around. Looking down at her, she is smiling and there are tears on her face. I reach her face and wipe them away. The song ends, and she looks up at me.

“I liked that one. What’s it called?”

“Say you Won’t Let Go.” She puts her head on my shoulder and we still just dance even though there’s no music. She’s doing a lot better in the heels now, but I don’t want to draw her attention to it. I hear the door open and Xander and Vashu start yelling for us. She looks up and smiles. They crack open her door and step inside.

“Ooooo, are we teaching her how to dance? Mmmmm, she’s in heels. My turn!” Xander rubs his hands together. Farlen laughs and I give her a quick kiss and hand her over to Xander. He spins her and dips her around and she laughs. He spins her right into Vashu, who doesn’t miss a beat and dances with her, he doesn’t do anything flashy like Xander did, but he just holds her close, he keeps looking down at her like he’s frustrated, but then he picks her up and dances while holding her. Xander and I both lose it and laugh.

Everyone stops when we hear Farlen's stomach growl. Vashu looks down at her and I can see panic in his eyes. His dragon blinks through him and looks around.

“Let’s go get you fed, sweet girl. Why don’t you take off the heels for now? I think you’ve had enough practice in them.” Xander walks over and takes them off her feet. Vashu is still carrying her, so I head out to the dining room. He sets her down where her bowl of pineapple is and she makes a joyful noise and starts eating. Her phone starts to vibrate, and she walks over and grabs it.

“Oh, my Gods girl! A ball! So I’m coming over to your house before it so I can do your hair and makeup and help you figure out something to wear, unless one of those walking muscles of yours wants to go pick you up something pretty they can drool over you in.”

Farlen holds the phone up to her mouth.

“I have a dress. Connor’s mom had one in a package for me. I don’t know what the rest of it is, but okay?”

Her phone vibrates immediately.

“Oh, you will! And when I’m done with you, those men aregoing to be on their hands and knees in front of you. I’m going shopping for my dress, so I’ll talk to you later!”

She looks over at us.

“Oh snowflake, I’ll get on my hands and knees for you anytime you want.”

Vashu nods his head in agreement. She smiles at them and sits back down to eat more pineapple. My phone vibrates and Xander and Vashu pull out theirs as well.
