Maklr has dedicated his life to helping the injured. When the human females began to arrive on Klaga from slavery situations on various planets, he requested a more permanent position. He was sent to Klaga to be the head medic at the transitional living center for the humans. Though he has a team of Klagan doctors at his beck and call, he still prefers a hands-on approach to heal both the bodies and minds of the rescued humans.
Nell is one of the first rescued humans to arrive in the transitional living center on Klaga. She needs time to heal and process her trauma.
