Good or bad, habits are hard to shake…
It’s a fresh start for Kayleigh McCourt! Starting now, she’s going to drink every drop from the water bottle she carries. She’ll exercise. She’ll eat right. She’ll be a better person overall, the kind of woman that everyone trusts and depends on (rather than watches and worries about). She’ll shake all her bad habits…and unfortunately, there have been a lot of those.
Her fresh start comes along with two new friends who enter her life by accident: the stray dog who adopts her, and the man who has some bad habits of his own. Her dog will need to learn to stop knocking her down with love and stop gobbling all the unattended food in Tennessee, and the man? Caleb Woodson will need to step away from his desk, step out of his dilapidated farmhouse, and step into living.
Caleb quickly becomes another habit for her, and all this is a lot for someone who has made some (too many) poor choices. How does she know she isn’t making another mistake? And how does she know that she won’t hurt him, like she hurt so many other people she cares about?
Maybe everyone needs a fresh start. The last few years have been hard, but that doesn’t mean that things can’t get better for Kayleigh. Even though she might stumble any number of times, she has to get back up and keep going (even if her canine bestie has made off with her lunch again). Because happiness—and love—might become habits that she never wants to shake…
