“Are you gonna tell her what happened?” His large, callused hand slips under my shirt, his fingers doing a relaxed slide up my ribcage while his hips do a slow grind against my backside.
“Nothing happened with Trevor. I told you—”
“That’s not what I’m talking about.” Laughter brushes against my ear a moment before he presses his mouth against the underside of my jaw. “And you know it.”
It was a bet.
A stupid bet.
One I never should have made.

To be honest, I didn’t even think it would work. I kissed Patrick the night we met and he couldn’t have made it clearer—he isn’t into me. Not like that. He’s funny, sweet and holy-shit-hot—entirely too good for a girl like me. He’s perfect and I’m… not.
So, we’re friends.
