I miss the warmth the second the cold air hits me, but boy, do I love the sight in front of me right now. Golden muscled skin, blonde hair, blue eyes begging me to come back to her while my cum drips down her thighs.
“Fuck, you’re a goddamn picture right now. If you don’t stop looking at me like that, you’ll never get fed.” She licks her lips and points at my cock.
“But you got a little something right there.” I chuckle and point at her.
“So do you. I’ll be right back.” It pains me to turn away from the vision in my bed, but I walk into the bathroom and grab a washcloth, turning on the hot water to warm it up.
I open my med bag and frown.
The doctor in me is telling me to offer her one of the Plan B’s we carry for rape victims, but the man in me that loves her beyond words wants her married and pregnant with my child. I shake my head, trying to dispel the thought of trapping her like that.
“Hey,” I turn and find Hannah pointing at the toilet.
“I need to pee.” I nod and turn the water off, but her arms circle me from behind.
“I love these,” I watch her hands raise to my nipple piercings.
“I’ll give you some privacy,” I grunt out, trying not to become the possessive prick I feel clawing its way outside my mind.
“No need. Why don’t you start a shower, and I’ll join you in a moment?” She sits on the toilet without a second thought and waves me in the direction of the shower, and I groan at how easy this is between us.
Could I have had this all along if I’d just maned up and confessed years ago instead of being a complete pussy? I shake off the thought as I step into my waterfall shower and hit the temperature control on the wall to heat the floor. I turn the knobs and stand under the fall, sighing.
“Do you hear that? Shit! I think that’s my cell. Be right back.” I wipe the water from my face and glare at the open ensuite door, frowning when almost a minute passes without her returning.
“Everything alright?” I call out but don’t get a response.
I’m about to get out when she finally comes in holding her phone. Her shoulders are shaking slightly but her hair is hiding her face from me.
“Bella?” She looks up at me, and even through the misty glasses separating us, I know something has happened.
I’m out of the shower and at her side, dripping water everywhere. Her puffy red eyes look up at me, and her chin wobbles. I shake my head, not understanding what’s going on, until she pushes her phone into my chest.
“Someone killed her,” Hannah’s whispered words echo in my ear as my eyes drop to the cell phone screen.
It’s a news story featuring a young blonde woman that works at our hospital.
Worked. She worked at our hospital.
Shit.
CHAPTER THIRTEEN
SHOCK
Allie wasa bright-eyed nurse that I’d help train a year or so ago. The news story Glitch texted me saying she’d been found dumped in the woods right by the employee parking lot.
She’d been strangled.
Murdered in the early morning after finishing her shift. Another worker found her purse laying on the ground near her car and, after hearing rustling in the bushes nearby, found her body.
The cameras don’t cover that section of the parking lot so they have no info to go on.
“Here, Bella, drink this.” Diego hands me a mug, and I sniff it.
“Did you put whiskey in my coffee?” I smile up at him.
“Just drink it, smart ass.” I chuckle at his reaction and then grow even sadder because Allie should be home having a drink now, too.
