“You know exactly what you’re doing.” This was just another trick of his to win.

“I really don’t.”

“Then let me tell you.”

“I’d appreciate that.”

She ground her teeth together. His drollness was going to make her strangle him one day. “I want you to stop being so sweet.”

“Sweet?”

“Yes.” Her throat tightened and she blinked back tears. “I can’t handle it.”

“Alison.” That was all he said as he walked across the kitchen and wrapped his arms around her.

She should’ve stopped him, pushed him away but instead she let him pull her head to his chest. She breathed deeply, inhaling his scent. He smelled so good, and this felt so right. She put her arms around him, holding him close. He was warm and strong. She felt safe and like she was where she belonged. Like this was the one place the universe had created just for her. She ran her hands up and down his back, feeling his strength and his muscles. He kissed her temple, his cock pressing against her hip. She ran her hand down to his ass and squeezed. Damn, she’d wanted to do that all day. Those blue jeans just begged her to touch them. He kissed her cheek, his lips making their way slowly down to her neck. She tipped her head and moaned as he trailed soft kisses along her sensitive skin.

He cupped her ass and pulled her into his hardness, holding her there for one hot second before he shifted his hips away and rested his forehead on hers. “As much as I want to continue this you need to eat something.” His fingers teased along her abdomen in a whisper-soft caress.

She wanted to grab his hand and lower it between her legs. What was wrong with her? She should be repulsed by his touch. He’d arranged to steal her baby from her, but her body didn’t care. It wanted him.

He kissed her softly, his tongue slipping into her mouth. The kiss was sweet and gentle, but she didn’t want that. She needed hard and desperate. That meant sex and lust, not feelings and caring. She sucked his tongue and he groaned into her mouth, his kiss turning wild. He lifted her and walked. His dick harder now, pressing against her pussy. She clung to him. This was what she needed. No caring. No kindness. Just a good, hard fuck. She reached between them, running her hand along his cock.

He groaned as he grabbed her wrist, pinning her hand to the door before dropping her feet to the floor. He broke the kiss, his chest heaving. “Go. Take a shower or bath and I’ll let you know when dinner is ready.” His eyes traveled down her body, igniting her already raging libido. “And don’t bother putting on underwear because I’ll be tearing off your clothes as soon as you swallow your last bite.”

She almost melted into a puddle of desire at the heat in his eyes, but she forced herself to stumble toward the door, her legs wobbly from need. As soon as she was out of the kitchen she hurried into her room, took a super-fast shower, dressed and snuck out of the house. She needed to think. No, she needed advice.

CHAPTER 15: Alison

Alison sat on the floor in Ellie’s apartment and took a huge bite of pizza before stuffing a chunk of honey mango into her mouth. “Oh, my god,” she mumbled around the food. “This is so good.” She pointed her fork at the plate of mangoes. “You have got to try it with pizza.”

“I’ll pass.” Adrian got up from the couch and headed for the kitchen.

“Do you have any chocolate?” She swallowed. “That would be perfect with the mango and pizza.”

“Ah, yeah. I think so.” He glanced at Ellie.

“Get the woman some chocolate.” Ellie waved her hand. “She’s eating for two now.”

“I shouldn’t have told you that.” Alison ate another piece of mango.

“Why?” asked Ellie.

“I haven’t told my mom or aunt yet.”

“Again. Why?”

Adrian sat back down by Ellie and handed them each a bottle of water before tossing the bag of candy to Alison.

“Just in case…” Alison grabbed a piece of chocolate and unwrapped it when her phone beeped. She glanced at it. It was Harker. She turned the phone over. She didn’t even want to see his name.

“In case of what?” asked Ellie.

“You know. Something goes wrong.” She popped the candy into her mouth and touched her stomach. “Everything else has gone wrong. This might too.” Her heart raced. She was bringing a child into a nightmare. “What am I going to do?”

“Nothing is going to happen.” Ellie slid off the couch, wrapping her arms around her friend. “You’re young and healthy. Everything is going to be perfect.”

“Not that.” Alison sobbed.
