No more taking anything for granted. It’s what we promised ourselves in the shower this morning, and there’s no time like the present to start. Chaos catches me checking out my woman and chuckles. I flip him off, setting off even more laughter in the limo.

“Nothing wrong appreciating your woman Judge.” I smile at Aiden’s words.

“Sitting right here, assholes,” Miya grumbles, and I lean in and kiss her cheek.

“We know, and I’m enjoying the view. Now, what are you two talking about.” I turn on my professional brain and try very hard to ignore the fact that from this angle, I can just see Miya’s nipple.

“You want to focus, so I don’t have to repeat myself?” Abel snaps his fingers.

He must have caught me licking my lips.

“Sorry, yes, go on.” I rip my eyes away and focus on Abel.

“We are going to announce the partnership with MorningStar Industries and let Chaos do his PR thing. Charlie will be coaching him through an earpiece since she’s not fit to be with us today. I offered to video conference her in, but she said no one wants to see her bloated ass on a screen floating like the boat she is.” He uses his fingers to make air quotes.

“My boys are getting big in that woman.” Chaos says proudly of his triplets.

“I thought Doc couldn’t verify the sex of all three because of their position?” Willy asks, and the proud dad-to-be shrugs.

“I make boys.” He says, and I just shake my head.

“After that, we’ll take some questions, but it’s all pretty cut and dry. After, we’ll head upstairs, sign some papers, and then watch for Anton’s next move. I’m curious to see how he liked the package he received this morning.” Ah hell.

“What the fuck did you do?” Satan growls.

“Just sent a message, Pops. He should watch for snakes in the grass. They tend to bite.” I can’t argue that.

“And our backup plan?” Satan pulls on his collar, clearly uncomfortable.

“Sunbathing waiting in high grass ready to attack.” The fucker smiles like any of us know what he’s talking about.

When he makes no more to clarify, I open my mouth to ask, but the limo stops, and I realize we’ve arrived at Fukuma Towers.

“Showtime.”

God, I hate people. I can’t stand crowds, and the fact that I’m their main focus is making my skin crawl.

Genevieve is rubbing the small of my back in circles, letting me know she’s with me, but I still want to cut and run. I’m just not built for the limelight.

Chaos, on the other hand, is eating up all the attention he’s getting while answering the reporter’s questions like the champ he is. His broad shoulders are holding the weight of the lights, whereas I’m trying to shrink away from them.

“You’re up,” Abel whispers in my ear, guiding me away from Genevieve and in front of Chaos at the podium that’s been set up for this press conference.

I look at the crowd and find my father in the front row. He doesn’t show an ounce of fear for a man given a death sentence. He bows to me, and I return the gesture. Cameras flash, capturing the moment for eternity.

“Ms. Fukuma will answer a few brief questions with her attorney’s permission as things are still progressing. Let’s start with you.” Chaos points at a report, and the questions begin.

I feel like I’m on a game show with a rapid-fire round. The reports took the word brief seriously, and in a matter of minutes, I’ve answered what felt like one hundred questions and can’t remember a word I said. But Abel is smiling at me, so I must have done ok.

“You good?” He leads me away while I hear Chaos behind us telling the people attending thank you.

“You did great, lover.” Genny kisses me right there in front of hundreds of people, most with cameras, and stuns me silent.

And not just a peck on the lips. No. She lays one on me, so hot and heavy I’m ready to tear her clothes off.
