Kit slowly sank back down onto bed. "Well, she knows how to keep life interesting."

I laughed, but couldn't disagree.

"This is kind of perfect, right?" I said, smiling slightly as I stared up at the ceiling, enjoying the warmth of him at my side.

"Yeah," Kit mumbled sleepily and I chuckled, content to stay right where I was for the rest of the day.

My phone started ringing and I groaned, letting it go to voicemail, until three texts pinged through and I finally reached for it. So much for peace and quiet.

"Who is it?" Kit groaned and I stayed quiet as I read the messages.

"It's Kat. She signed the contract," I muttered, scrolling down to read the wall of text she'd sent over and my eyes growing wide as I got to the end. "I have to go."

"What? Why?"

"Because Kat told her parents and it was messy."

"Shit," Kit said with a sigh and I had to agree. "Go."

"Thank you." I stood up and grabbed some clothes, throwing them on in a hurry and kissing Kit goodbye as I typed on my phone.

"I love you," he called to me and I smiled as I closed the door, off to rescue my friend from whatever mischief she'd got herself into now.

"I love you too."
