A smile curled my lips as I realized how arrogant his proposal was. “You call that a proposal?”

He smiled at me. “I’m not good with words, but I promise to give you a million reasons why you won’t regret saying yes.”

Scarlet glowed on my cheeks. “You sound so confident for someone who hasn’t gotten an answer yet.”

I glanced at the ring and noticed how beautiful it was. A single octagonal diamond sparkled in the center like the moon. Around the large diamond, small but flawless diamonds shone like a thousand stars. The ring was exquisite.

I extended my finger to him. “I will marry you, Damien. I am not perfect, but I will love you with all my heart. I will be by your side through thick and thin. Now and forever,” my voice trembled with happiness.

His smile grew even wider as he slipped the ring onto my ring finger.

“It’s beautiful,” I said, admiring the diamond.

“You are even more beautiful.” He pulled me into his arms and wrapped his fingers around my waist. “Thank you for making me the happiest man on earth, Rosanne. I love you with every fiber of my being, Rosanne.”

He leaned forward and his warm breath tickled my skin.

“I love you too, Damien,” I whispered against his lips before his lips captured mine and kissed me.

“I’ll love you forever,” he moaned, deepening our kiss.

I wrapped my hand around his neck, melting into him, allowing him to consume me.

Forever.
