I nod. “Yeah, but look right in the middle of the picture.”

“I see you and Zander. Okay?”

“We didn’t take that picture,” I push.

“What do you mean? One of his friends took it of you guys?”

I shrug again. “I would have said yes, but if you look toward the back, that’s Zander’s friend, Matt, and his fiancée, Valerie, right there. They would have been the only ones to take the picture. But they didn’t.”

She squints her eyes. “Serenity, I’m not following. Where are you going with this?”

I grab the phone and back out of the picture, showing her the conversation. Or rather, my unanswered messages sent to the mystery number. “Look. It came from a number I don’t know. I tried messaging back, and it went undelivered. I tried calling, and it said my call could not be completed as dialed. I have no idea who this person is, or what it means.”

“You’re freaking me out. Are you trying to tell me someone is stalking you? And who the hell is YHWZ?”

I shrug once more. “I don’t know.”

“We have to report this to the police, Ren.”

“I don’t know if there’s anything they can do.”

She picks up her cup, takes another sip of her coffee, and then puts it back down. “Of course there is; that’s what they get paid for. That’s their job.”

I think over her words for a moment. Maybe she’s right. Maybe I should just report it to be safe.

“When did you get this?”

I put my phone away. “Just last night after I got in.”

“Did you tell Zander about it?”

I shake my head. “Not yet. I’m going to tell him tonight when I see him for dinner.”

Lissa nods. “Okay, good. The more people know about it, the better, because you never know. I still think we should report it to the cops.”

“I really don’t want to make a big deal out of it because what if it’s nothing?”

“But what if it is?” she challenges.

I chuckle. Of course she’s challenging me. Why wouldn’t she? That’s what my sister does. “I’ll tell you what. I’ll think about it, and if something more like this happens again, I’ll definitely report it, I promise.”

She lets out a long sigh. “You’re so stubborn, woman.”

I smirk. “I know.”
