“Yahoo! Geronimo!”

She found one of the panels hiding several cables and took out a little device hidden in her leg. She had several of these, what Loir called his “little army.” They were like digital keys that acted as beacons for the hacker to find and gain access through. She planted it, and right away, the little device began beeping. Loir was probably getting a similar signal on his computers, showing him a little back door into the closed circuit of the fans.

“Found you! Come here, little one!”

“Shit, that’s a huge one,” groaned Crash.

“See?” sighed Greed. “It’s going to take us hours to... Wha-... What the fuck is that thing?!”

“Hey, hey, hey!” shouted Crash. “You can’t plant a fucking cyber bomb while I’m in! Hey!”

Crash’s voice stopped abruptly, making Eden concerned. Loir wouldn’t really kill a Dive Hacker, would he? His hysterical laugh made her actually worry for the first time, and Greed had gone silent too.

“This fucker...” Greed’s voice finally muttered. “He completely wiped the initial coding for that program! There’s... pretty much nothing left!”

“No, there’s the base one,” sighed Crash. “Shit, I really thought he was going to wipe me too… He nearly blasted all the controls here. I didn’t even know you could blast this many at once...”

“My baby!” squealed Loir. “Who’s a good boy? Who’s Daddy’s favorite cyber bomb? Look at that! It looks like a mall spring cleaning after a Black Friday during a pandemic! Now, now, now, let’s make a blast!”

“What the fuck is he gonna do now…?” muttered Greed, worried.

Eden was worried too. It was never good when Loir didn’t let them know his intentions in advance, especially with no one to watch him. She could hear him type a new code, and all the fans suddenly spun on their own, the rotors working even faster. In a matter of seconds, the wind picked up, making her worry.

“Loir... Loir, I’m still up here!”

“I believe I can fly~” he was singing. “My Kitty can touch the sky~”

The fans spun, faster and faster. Not only that, but Loir was positioning them so all the fans were facing one another, not toward the Core or the Suburbs. She couldn’t understand what he was doing. Now the gas was being released on both sides!

“Loir!”

“Eden, get ready to jump!” Circé’s voice said.

“What?”

Eden panicked. She had no idea why Circé was telling her to jump, but she couldn’t stay there. The fans were spinning like crazy, completely out of control, and as they were blowing against one another, the pressure was getting too strong in her direction. The gas wasn’t the issue now; at this rate, she was going to be blown away!

“Now! Jump!”

Eden obeyed without a second thought, one second before her fingers couldn’t hold on anymore. She jumped, praying she wasn’t going to meet the hard ground far below. To her surprise, she landed much sooner than anticipated, on something unstable too. She looked down. Drones! They had taken control of two drones to catch her. The flying robots quickly took her farther away from the fans, and soon enough, she was able to jump to the ground, rolling down to safety. Eden raised her head, large gusts of wind still hitting her and everyone near the wall, but just then, they all heard a terrible ruckus. Two of the fans had just blown one another off of their bases, hitting each other and the ones next to them. Eden went white.

“Everybody, take cover!”

“Yahoo! Dominoes, bitches!”

There was no domino effect. Instead, the fans began exploding against one another, blowing large pieces of metal on all sides, causing immense damage to the wall and also to any building around. It rained debris on both sides, causing chaos on the ground, and everybody ran to take cover. A large piece of rotor brutally stabbed deep into the concrete, steps away from a panicked Eden. She rolled down again, taking cover under the drones, waiting for the rain of debris to stop. It lasted a while, and even after, nothing and nobody dared to move.

“He’s insane,” muttered Greed after a long silence. “He’s... really, really insane.”

“...I-I swear I thought they would fall like dominoes!” squealed Loir.

“Warlock, I’m blowing your fucking brains out the minute I’m back,” groaned Circé.

“...Everyone okay over there?” asked Nebty.

“We lost some men,” groaned Thao, “but I can’t tell if it’s from that crazy guy’s actions or the drones... What a fucking mess...”

While everyone else updated Nebty on the situation, Eden let out a long sigh. She heard steps approach her, and a hand appeared to help her stand back up. Dante checked her out from head to toe, wiping some of the dust off her.
