Cara placed her hand over his. Dante smiled down at her. Dante said his vows first. Cara stumbled over hers but it didn’t seem to bother Dante.
They exchanged wedding rings. When he slid the ring over her engagement ring, her heart soared with love and affection for her husband.
“You may kiss the bride,” the priest said.
Dante lifted her chin using two fingers. Cara rose on tiptoe and kissed him first, taking him by surprise. Dante regained control immediately. He moved his hand to the back of her neck. Not caring a crowd watched them, Dante kissed her rough and deep.
Just the blazing heat of his mouth over hers triggered her hunger for her new husband. Cara’s nipples hardened and the spot between her legs grew wet. While it was tempting to skip the reception and head to their honeymoon, Cara reminded herself to be patient. After all, their guests took the time to attend their wedding celebration. Dante pulled back, the devil in his smile. He leaned in close and whispered in her ear.
“I have a surprise for you, dear wife,” he said.
“A surprise?” Cara asked with interest
“That’s right. Should I reveal it now or later?” Dante asked, tangling fingers into her hair. He brought her face close for another kiss that left her panting.
“Now,” she said.
“We’re not spending our first night as husband and wife in the suite of the Rosewood Hotel,” Dante said.
“We’re not?” Cara asked with some surprise. The Rosewood Hotel was the finest hotel in the city. Cara had been looking forward to spending a luxurious night with her husband there.
The photographer they hired was telling them to get ready for photos but they ignored him.
“No, after the reception, Jack will bring us to my private jet. I’m taking you to our private island in the Caribbean. There, we won’t be disturbed,” Dante said. “We can spend two weeks there, worry-free.”
“We have a private island?” she asked. Just when Cara thought she knew all of Dante’s secrets, he had more surprises for her every single day.
Then she processed Dante’s words. “You’re taking so much time off work,” she said.
“This is a special occasion,” Dante said, kissing her on the forehead.
“You’re amazing, you know that?” she asked him.
“I love you, Cara, and I’m looking forward to spending the rest of my life with you.” Even though Dante had said those three words to her every single day, she never got tired of hearing it.
“I love you too, Dante Massimo.”
“Shall we pose for these wedding photos, then head to the reception, Mrs. Massimo?” Dante asked her.
“Let’s,” she agreed, smiling.
The End
