Easy was going to share his favorite thing with me.

That was all I wanted to focus on right now.

“So ready.”

He handed me a helmet, and I plopped it on my head. “Where is yours?” I asked.

He shook his head and cranked up the bike. “Gotta take care of my precious cargo,” he called.

I rolled my eyes and snapped the buckle under my chin. “That means you don’t have to wear a helmet?”

“Kind of hard to wear a helmet when I only have one with me.”

“Convenient,” I muttered. I swung my leg over the bike behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist.

“Ready, Doc?” He shifted his arm back and caressed my knee.

“Let’s chase the sunset, handsome.” Life and my problems faded into the background when I was with Easy.

He made life easy.

Chapter Twenty-Four

Easy

“Well,” King drawled. “What’s been going on with Dr. Douche?”

Luna threw up her hand in the air. “Bear didn’t find anything on him. Not even a speeding ticket. Seems the guy is on the straight and narrow, or he knows how to keep his bullshit to himself.”

“The guy works, sleeps, and occasionally goes out with a couple of the nurses,” Dad added. “He’s fucking boring.”

“He hasn’t had any contact with Birdie that I’ve seen.” Slider shrugged. “This has been the easiest surveillance I’ve ever done. It’s a good thing Gravel and Ethel went back to Arizona, or you’d have him ranting about how PG the club is.”

“I like PG,” King grunted.

“Did Birdie go to the board about the guy?” Hero asked.

I sighed and sat back. “No. I asked her last night after we went for a ride, and she said she was going to do it this week.”

“Why don’t we just beat the shit out of the guy, and call it done?” Zag suggested. “Break a few fingers, and he’ll be out of work for a while.”

Zig pointed at Zag. “Now that seems like a good idea to me.

King looked at me. “This is all your call, Easy. You know we all want the guy to pay for what he did to Birdie.”

I tapped my fingers on the table. “Let me talk to Birdie.” She had told me to let her handle Aaron, but she wasn’t doing anything.

“All right. In the meantime, everyone keep doing what you’re doing. Hopefully, we can put this guy behind us and stick to being PG,” King grunted.

Hero reached for the gavel.

“What the hell do you think you are doing?” King demanded.

“You said I could do the gavel.”

King grabbed the gavel and slammed it on the table. “Not this time.”

“Jesus,” Hero grumbled.
