I can’t fight it any longer. My release rips through me, and I scream as I feel like I am indeed being ripped in half.
“Yes, fuck yes,” Reno whispers as his orgasm finds him.
He rests his body on my back as we both try to control our heavy breathing. As I let out a sigh of complete and utter satisfaction, he presses a soft kiss to my shoulder.
“Damn, you’re perfect,” he whispers.
I smile, shaking my head. “No, I’m not, but together I think we might be.”
He moves away, and I miss his body against mine immediately.
“You’re perfect for me, Valencia, and if we’re perfect together, it’s because you make me a better man,” he says, lifting me into his arms.
We share a soft, slow kiss as he carries me to his bed. He lays us down, covering our naked bodies, and pulls me close to him.
I rest my head on his chest, and he kisses the top of my head, rubbing his hand up and down my back.
“What do you see for your future?” he asks.
I swallow and lift my shoulder. “It’s hard to see my future anymore,” I admit.
“Why?”
“Because things have never gone the way I wanted them to go. If I don’t have you and the club, I have nothing. Seeing a future is hard when you don’t want to lose the present,” I whisper.
He wraps his arm around me, holding me tightly to him. I don’t even think he realizes how things like this make me feel safe and wanted.
“I’m your family now. The club is your family now. You don’t need to worry about losing that. So, knowing that, tell me what you see for your future, baby,” he says.
I feel tears swimming in my eyes. Hearing him say that means everything to me, and yet when the truth comes out, he may be part of my past.
“Don’t be shy. Tell me,” he pushes.
I clear my throat of the emotions I feel and let myself envision a future I would love to have.
“Promise you won’t laugh,” I say.
“Never.”
I close my eyes and let the truth pour out of me. “I want to go back to college and finish my degree.”
“What do you want to do?” he asks, genuinely curious.
“All my life, I had these things chosen for me. I was supposed to be a criminal defense lawyer, but I really want to be an immigration lawyer and help people get out of bad situations,” I explain.
He strokes my hair, moving his hand to my back. He slowly begins to rub circles as I listen to his heart beating in his chest.
“That’s commendable, Valencia. It’s for the greater good.” He kisses my head and smiles against it. “I love how huge your heart is.”
I smile against him, pressing a kiss to his chest. “Thank you.”
“We’ll make this happen. You’ll have the future you want, baby. You’ll see,” he says.
My heart beats faster at his promise, and I lean up on my elbow and smile. He brushes my hair off my face, and his stomach growls.
We both laugh, sitting up.
“I think I need some food and something to drink,” he says.
