“No one ever told me that planning weddings would be so hard!” Her nose crinkles, and her rosy lips press into a mock pout.
I sit down next to her and hand over a glass, which she takes with a grateful smile. “What’s so difficult?”
“There are so many details. Table settings, color themes, seating arrangements, even the type of seat cover to use.” She laughs and shakes her head. “I never had an opinion of seat covers before. Let alone whether they should have a bow on the back or not.” Despite her grouching, Norah isn’t taking it too seriously.
“Seats have bows? That sounds odd.”Wedding planning is strange. I had no ideabefore, but I certainly donow. But I want to make sure that Norah has the perfect wedding, and I’ll do whatever I can to ensure that happens. Venue, food, decor, anything. Even bows on the chair covers, if that’s what she wants.
I’m just so grateful and thrilled to be getting married to the love of my life. Everything else is inconsequential to me. Our marriage, and making Norah happy.Making sure she knows how much I love her, and always will.
Norah takes a sip of wine, and sighs in pleasure. “Ahh, this is so good.” She leans back and rests her head against my shoulder. I reach my arm around her back, snuggling her slender body against mine. “I know I shouldn’t get stressed about the wedding. No one will care what tablecloths or napkins we have.”
“Unlikely,” I say with a smile. “I think most people only care about the food and drinks. And having a good time.”
“With special beverages for our vampire friends, of course.” Norah tilts her head up, ocean blue eyes sparkling. “I spoke with the owner of Vita et Mors, and he said he’d have enough for everyone.”
“That’s great news, baby.” I brush my lips across hers, softly at first, then delving deeper. Her mouth tastes spicy and rich, intoxicating. Her tongue dances with mine, the movements sultry and full of heat. Norah pulls back to nip at my lower lip, then sucks at the spots lightly, sending a shiver of need through my body. She swipes her tongue across the small bite marks and presses one more quick kiss before drawing back to look at me. Her eyes have turned from calm water to frothy waves.
Norah takes another sip from her glass, then places it on the table in front of us. “Have I told youhowexcited I am to marry you?”
I give her a teasing grin. “Maybe once or twice. But I’ll never get tired of hearing it.”
“Good.” Norah shifts around, lifting herself out of her seat and settling down on my lap, facing me. “I cannotwaitto get married. I am beyond excited about being your wife. In all of my hopes, my dreams, nothing in my imagination came close to the reality of being with you. As your partner, your best friend, and your love.”
I put my glass down and wrap my arms around Norah, tugging her close to my chest. “It will be thegreatesthonor and privilege to be your husband. You’ve already made me complete, Norah, and I can’t wait to declare it in front of all our friends and family."
"I will spend all of eternity treasuring you, protecting you, and loving you. With all of my heart, my soul, and every essence of my being.” Leaning down to capture her lips, I infuse every word, every feeling I have for her into our kiss. “All of our lives, in this world and whatever comes after, I’llalwaysbe with you.”
“All of our lives,” Norah echoes, “For all time.” Her lips come back to mine in a whisper. “I’ll love you forever.” And she pushes back towards me, kissing, demanding, as our bodies come together as one.
