Very grumpy.

“Actually, yes a car accident.” A new voice called out from the doorway.

All three of them turned to see Danny and Rick in the doorway, with Dominic standing behind them.

“What the fuck!” Mark yelled scowling at them all.

“Mark,” she whispered, but Mark didn’t look at her.

He obviously wasn’t about to let anything go, but she wasn’t going to let him sit there and stew in his mind.

“Branson,” Danny called out.

“Hey man. Glad y’all are here,” Branson said standing and shaking hands with Rick and Danny. He didn’t even approach Dominic who was standing back by the door, a blank look on his face.

Mark stood by her bed, his hand holding hers tight. Whether for her or him she didn’t know.

“Why are you here?”

“I called them,” she answered, and Mark’s head swung to her.

“Why?” He stared at her.

“Because family is family. No matter what,” Dominic said, his face still set in stone, not giving away anything, but he nodded at her.

A small gesture, but enough.

She knew deep down that they all cared for each other and to her that was all that mattered. They all had a long way to go, but that was going to have to be enough.

Apparently when you had money, and you traveled somewhere you didn’t stay in a hotel.

You rented a house.

Well since they were still in West Virginia, it was a cabin.

But not just any cabin.

A nice resort style cabin that had seven bedrooms all with adjoining baths. With a kitchen that would make any sane person drool.

A cabin with a private pool and spa.

A cabin with a private yard and its own pond with a dock.

It was crazy and far beyond anything that she had ever seen. The amenities right there at her fingertips was baffling.

Heck it even had a movie theater.

She was used to opulence. Ernesto had been dripping in it.

This was something else entirely.

But it was comforting as well, but that could have something to do with the people that were there.

So that was where they were. Two days later.

It had taken that long for her to talk Mark into letting Dominic help. He didn’t have an issue with Rick or Danny, but he hadn’t wanted anything to do with Dominic.
