“If you need anything, if it’s too much, you have to promise to say something.” His words were deeper, making her shiver, but still burning her more than any fire.

She nodded as he reached the last button, a sliver of his chest peeking through and distracting her.

“No, little bird. The words. You have to promise me.”

Her eyes flew to his as his hands paused on his shirt.

He was serious.

It wouldn’t matter what she said or what she needed. He would stop everything to get it for her.

“I will, Mark,” she whispered. Her voice trembling. She may not know what she was doing, she may not have any experience, but her voice wasn’t trembling because of that. Not even in fear, but in emotion. So strong, so overwhelming, it was sweeping over her. Pulling her under.

As if he knew that she needed it, he came down over her. His hands braced above her head.

“In the last year, Winter, have I ever let you down?”

“No.” She managed to say.

“Then trust me, little bird. I’ve got you,” he said the last right before his lips crashed down on hers.

He used one arm to brace himself, while the other slid up into her hair, cupping her head and dictating her moves, as he devoured her. Her hands went to his chest, sweeping his shirt off, feeling his hot skin against her fingertips.

Running her fingers down lower, across the sculpted plains of his muscles, a quiver filling her, and the desire made her squirm.

When she could hardly stand it any longer, he slid his body down hers, his hands coming to her pants pulling them off as he kissed his way down. His broad shoulders all she could see.

He flicked the pants away, his hands coming to her knees gently pulling them apart, his kisses going lower till he wasthere, and his shoulders were between her legs.

Panic instantly filled her.

What if she didn’t do the right thing?

“Mark. Wait!” she stuttered out, her hand going to his head, and he instantly froze.

“I need to tell you something,” she whispered, her voice shaking.

Please don’t be disappointed.

“I know, Winter,” he said, his lips still against her skin, his blue eyes staring up at her.

“You know?” she repeated dumbly, too shocked to come up with anything else.

How?

“You know that I’ve never done this?” she whispered.

“Yes. And to know that I’m your first, your only …” His head dropped then, his eyes closing before opening again. A soft gasp left her at the look in his eyes.

Burning.

Hot.

Searing.

“It means more than you will ever know.”

Then using his shoulder to push her legs farther apart, he was there, using his mouth to bring her to heaven.
