“How about we get your bag stored?” asked the flight attendant. “It’s a little big for keeping it down below, so let’s put it up in the overhead.”
“Oh! Probably would’ve been a good idea to do that first, right?”
“Yes,” the flight attendant replied, clearly using all the skill she had to keep that professional smile on her face. “Here—let me help.”
She reached up and pressed the switch on the overhead bin. Once it was opened, the woman hoisted up her bag with her slender, toned arms to shove it inside. She had to stretch a bit, the contortion exposing her midriff, the bare, flat skin on display right in front of me was more than enough to make my cock twitch with eagerness.
I turned my attention away, not wanting to make it obvious. Once she had the bag in, I quickly rose and moved into the aisle so she could slide into her seat.
“Whew!” she said with a sigh as she dropped into her seat, her full breasts bouncing as she landed. “Finally!”
The flight attendant didn’t waste a second before hurrying back up the aisle and grabbing the speaker control off the wall.
“Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to announce that we’re about to be on our way.”
I could practically feel the relief spread through the plane at the flight attendant’s words. A little applause even broke out here and there.
“Oh my God,” the woman said, shaking her head as she spoke. “I can’t believe that everyone had to wait for me like this.”
Without saying another word to me, she turned toward the woman seated across the aisle from us and began talking. She leaned right over me like I wasn’t even there, poking her head into the aisle. I wasn’t pleased in the slightest about her intrusion into my personal space. All the same, the scent of her hair wafting up to me wasn’t so bad.
“I’m so sorry,” she said to the woman. “It was just one thing happening after another! You’ve probably been there, right?”
The woman, older, with glasses and short, graying hair, regarded her with suspicion.
“All the same, a little promptness would have been nice,” the older woman replied.
“I know, I know,” my row partner said. “I really am sorry. But…say, where did you get those glasses?”
“Excuse me?”
“Those glasses. They’re really cool. I love the blue color, the way they go with your eyes.”
At first, I was certain that she was bullshitting, a mere attempt to butter up someone she knew she’d made angry. However, there didn’t seem to be any trace of insincerity in her voice. It really seemed like she meant it.
“Oh, these?” The older woman smiled, placing her fingertips on the side of her glasses. “My granddaughter got them for me, actually. I believe she said they were Warby Parker.” The smile on her face was bashful, as if she were a little uncertain about the glasses and was more than pleased to hear the compliment.
“Well, tell your granddaughter she has amazing taste. And so do you! You’re the one wearing them, after all.” The woman flashed a warm, disarming smile.
“I will!” The earlier frustration that had been on the older woman’s face was long gone.
“Alright,” I said, guiding the woman back with a gesture. “That’s enough cross-aisle chitchat.”
“Oh, sorry.” She leaned back into her seat.
Despite how annoying it’d been, I had to grudgingly admit I was amused. She’d been able to change the sour mood of a total stranger with just a few words. A stranger that had been fairly annoyed with her only moments ago.
It was an impressive skill, one that I’d yet to conquer. I had no problems being assertive when it was necessary, but to turn on the charm and win over a stranger like that was something I’d never been able to do.
“Damn glad to finally be on the plane, you know?” she said while buckling her seatbelt.
As the engines started up, and the plane pulled away from the gate, she extended her hand toward me.
“Name’s Piper. What’s yours?”
