Page 77 of Committed to You

I step into my closet and pack a bag with clothes for tomorrow, toiletries, and then debate about taking pajamas. I throw them in the bag, even though I have no intention of wearing them.

I’m still in my dress, and in all reality, I don’t even know if I can get it off myself. The saleslady zipped me up and out of it, and Chase had to help me into it tonight. I decide I have a good excuse to get into his room.

I grab my bag, lock my door, and order an Uber. The Uber quickly arrives, and I tell the driver to take me to the Waldorf.

I text Chase, “What’s your room number? I’m ordering something to send to you, and the hotel wouldn’t let me order it without verifying your room number.”

“Seven twenty-three,” he replies. “What are you ordering me?”

“It’s a surprise,” I text back.

“Now, I’m intrigued.”

“You should be.”

“Are you in bed already?”

I lie. “All tucked in, naked.”

“Way to make my blue balls bluer.”

I send him a laughing emoji.

It doesn’t take long to get to the Waldorf. Butterflies are fluttering inside my stomach. I’ve never done anything like this before.

I hope he doesn’t kick me out.

The elevator ride is quick, and I locate the direction his room is in. Taking a deep breath, I knock on his door and stand to the side so he can’t see me from the peephole.

Chase opens the door, wearing his unbuttoned tux shirt. “Vivian?”

I leap into his arms, pull his head down, and claim his lips as my own. His arms wrap tightly around me, I push him inside, and the door slams.

He releases the strap of my bag from my shoulder.

“What are you doing here?” he asks between kisses.

“I need you to unzip my dress.”

“Is that right?”

“Mm-hmm,” I mumble. “And I heard someone has blue balls. I thought maybe I could fix that.”

He groans. “You’re a vixen.”

I trace my finger over his erection.

He puts his forehead to mine. “Vivian, I promised.”

“I think you’ve made good on making it right. Let’s move forward.”

He scans my eyes.

“Please,” I whisper.

“I’m still going to finish this when I get back to New York.”

“Yes, I know,” I tell him.
