I put my hands on his sides, needing to feel him. “Ethan, I know you love me. Right now, I am so confused and scared. I don’t know how I feel about anything, except that I know that I don’t want to do this alone. I want your help with this.”
He smiled down at me, his blue eyes twinkling, and I realized how much I had missed him smiling at me like that. I raised up on my toes and pressed my lips to his. The kiss was tender, loving, and as he stepped back, he looked down at my belly.
“Are you really carrying my child, Riley?”
“Yes, Ethan, I am.”
He grinned and pulled me into his arms, lifting me off the ground and staring me in the eye. “I’m gonna be a pretty damn good dad.”
“That’s what your mother said. She said that you would be a wonderful father.”
He began to blink rapidly as he rested his forehead against mine. “Will you come over tonight so we can talk? I have a million questions, or I can come to you.”
“Yeah, I think that it’s time we talk.”
