Jenna’s eyes widened. “She knows about you and Ava?”
“Apparently someone asked Ava’s sister about us and she smiled?” Asher relayed, still not understanding why that was significant.
“Oh.” Jenna nodded as if that explanation had made perfect sense.
“I should go talk to her.” The last thing Asher wanted to do was go into Blake’s room when she was in this state. But that’s what being a dad was. It was throwing yourself on the emotion bomb and absorbing the explosion.
“Nope.” Jenna shook her head and pressed her hand to his chest stopping him from heading up the stairs. “I’ll go. I need to tell her what’s going on with me and set the record straight about some things.”
“Are you sure?” Asher really didn’t want to go up there, but he was willing to make the sacrifice for his baby girl.
“I’m sure. I got this.”
As he watched his ex walk up the stairs he was blown away that there wasn’t an ounce of fear in her eyes. She seemed confident that she would be able to handle whatever Blake threw at her. Which was exactly why it was a good idea that she was moving to Hope Falls. Blake needed both of her parents. Even if they weren’t together, they were a family.
He just hoped that Ava would see it that way.
