“I’ve wantedto do this all week.” Asher spoke against Ava’s lips as he continued kissing her.

“Same,” Ava sighed and he couldn’t help but smile.

He’d been so worried that the time they’d spent apart the past week would have changed something between them, but it hadn’t. If anything, the saying was true and absence had made his heart and other parts of his body grow fonder.

Needing to be closer to her, to feel her skin against his, he tugged at her top and when it came off, he started kissing down her neck. He’d barely made it halfway when he felt her body tense and he immediately slammed on the brakes. He straightened and looked down at her. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.” She shook her head and closed her eyes as she moved her hands up the back of his neck and threaded her fingers in his hair.

He loved the feeling of her nails scraping against his scalp and he could have easily got lost in the sensation, but he would not allow himself to do that. Not until he knew what was wrong. She flexed her fingers and attempted to pull him back to her neck, but he didn’t budge.

When her lids opened revealing her crystal green-blue stare he could see the question there.

“I’m not kissing you until you tell me what’s wrong,” he answered her unasked question.

“Nothing, it’s just... I feel all sweaty and gross after being down at the festival today and then dancing.”

His brow furrowed. “Why didn’t you just say that?”

She bit her lip and her hands dropped. “Because I just...nothing.”

This time she didn’t close her eyes, just continued staring up at him.

After a few seconds, she sighed. “I didn’t want to stop and I thought if I said that I wanted to take a shower it would—” She made quotation marks with her fingers. “—kill the mood.”

“Why do you think that would kill the mood?”

Her cheeks flushed in the way that he found endearing as fuck as she lifted her left shoulder in a half-shrug. “Past experience.”

Since Ava had only been with her ex, he knew that this complex she had came from him. He already thought very little of the man that had abandoned Ava on her wedding day, but every time he got another glimpse into their relationship it just proved what an even bigger asshole her ex was than Asher originally thought.

But the last thing he wanted to think about was her dickhead ex and he sure as hell didn’t want her wasting another second on that bastard. Luckily, he had a pretty good idea of how to distract her.

He took his time running his hands slowly down her back. Her lips parted and her eyes closed at his gentle caress.

“Do you want to take a shower?” his deep voice held an extra layer of gravel in it thanks to the X-rated visions of her naked body under the spray of the shower.

Her breaths were coming in short pants as she nodded, never breaking eye contact with him.

“Do you want company?”

A fiery desire lit in her eyes as she bit her bottom lip again and nodded.

He reached down, put one arm behind her knees one behind her back and scooped her up. She squealed as her arms wrapped around him. He carried her into the bathroom and she nuzzled her face into the crook of his neck. He could feel the heat of her breath against his skin as she inhaled and exhaled in a shallow pattern.

Being with Ava was so different than any other woman he’d been with. He noticed everything with her from the smallest movements, twitches, to changes in her breathing pattern. It was almost as if she was a part of him.

He set her down and leaned in to turn the water on. When he straightened back up, he saw her reflection in the full-length mirror that stood in the corner of the bathroom. She was standing behind him pulling her sports bra off over her head and his eyes shot straight to her full breasts that jiggled as she tugged the material.

The garment fell to the floor and she was looking down as she hooked her thumbs into the sides of her shorts. Before she pushed them off, she lifted her head and caught him unabashedly staring at her as she undressed.

For a brief moment, he thought that she might get shy, or self-conscious, but instead a tiny grin lifted on her lips and she slowly removed both her shorts and underwear. He watched as she revealed her belly, then the light patch of hair that sat above her sex.

He was growing harder by the second as she continued her striptease. She bent over as she shimmied the clothes down her body until they pooled by her feet. When she stepped out of them and stood back up, his eyes traveled up and down her body.

As badly as he wanted to touch her, looking at her like this, in the mirror mesmerized him. His eyes hungrily, greedily devoured her, covering every curve, every line, every slope, every dip of her hourglass figure.
