Honestly? I think the two of themlikebutting heads.
As for Magnus and myself, yes, we do have the occasional argument. But it’s never a big deal. I know he’s going to stay by my side no matter what.
And I’malwaysgoing to stay by his.
“Well? Should we keep exploring?” Magnus asks the kids. The three of them shout “Yes!” in unison. As we walk away from the table, the kids walk a few steps ahead of us, Violet holding her brothers’ hands.
“Hey,” says Magnus, nudging me playfully. “I like your bracelet.”
Reflexively, I lift my arm and touch the piece of jewelry with my other hand. The bracelet was a Valentine’s Day gift from Magnus this year, and I love it just as much as my wedding ring. It’s a beautiful dainty gold chain adorned with charms engraved with our kids’ initials.
Naturally, when Magnus gave it to me, he pointed out how much extra room there was on the bracelet to add more charms.
At the time, I’d just laughed and kissed him and thanked him. But that night, when he made love to me, I could feel it happen. I knew I was pregnant again the second he came inside me—and even if I was wrong about that exact moment, itdefinitelyhappened the second time.
I took a test two weeks later, and sure enough, two little lines appeared.
I felt the urge to tell Magnus right away. But then I thought of something fun I could do and decided to keep the news to myself for the time being.
I won’t be staying mum for much longer, though. Tonight, right before the theme park’s nightly fireworks start, I’m going to tell Magnus he’s going to be a dad again.
I can’t wait to tell him my secret.
