This coupling was slower and gentler, and afterwards Dash flipped them again so that Christopher was cradled on top of him. Christopher held on tight, visions of the future swirling in his dreams.

Dash smiled when he heard footsteps in the hallway. He plated the bacon and got it to the table just as his sleepy mate appeared in the doorway and began rubbing his eyes. He finished and then blinked at the table, which was heavy laden with food. “I was unhappy waking up alone, but I think I forgive you,” Christopher said, stumbling toward the table. “Mmmm. Smells wonderful.” He looked around the kitchen as he rested his hands on the back of one of the chairs. “Is there any food left in the larder?”

Dash chuckled. “There’s more than enough.” He gestured to the two places he’d set. “Sit. Dig in and tell me all about what we need to do today.”

Christopher sat down as Dash brought over the coffee pot and filled their cups. “Now, we’re just waiting for Renn and Simon to get here.”

Dash sat down and spread a napkin over his lap. “And finding a priest.”

Christopher paused with his coffee cup halfway to his lips. He blushed and took a sip before setting it back down carefully. “So I name the time and the place and you’ll show up?”

“You know I will.”

“I’ll write to Thorne then. Since you talked to him too, I’m sure he’ll be happy to hear we worked things out and more than willing to do the ceremony.”

Dash grinned. “I’m sure he will be.” He started filling his plate and nodded to the counter. “I read over that contract again.”

“Any thoughts? We kind of got sidetracked,” Christopher said, a smile coming to his lips as he snagged several slices of bacon.

“We certainly did.” He was tempted to get up and drag his mate back to bed, but Christopher seemed to be enjoying his food, which was fun to watch in its own way. “Everything looked fine to me. I’d sign right now if we had no one but ourselves to think of. But I was wondering if we should have Renn and Simon look it over and see if there’s anything that could affect their plans. I can’t think of anything, and I don’t want you to think I’m second-guessing your idea. I’m so happy you even thought of me at all.”

“How could I not think of you?” Christopher wiped his mouth and set his fork down. “The fact you even thought about how I’d feel means a lot. And honestly? I love that you want their opinions. That you care how they could be affected. They’re the two most important people in my life. Aside from you, of course.”

Dash got up and went to kneel by Christopher’s chair. He took his hand and said, “No matter what we do concerning that, I want to take the mate vow with you as soon as we can.”

“I’ll write to Thorne today.”

“Good.” Dash rose and kissed Christopher’s temple before returning to his seat. “I’m guessing having Renn’s blessing is all you care about, but what about your parents and your other brothers?”

“I’ll send word to them. Or perhaps go to the palace and tell them. Hearing a priest from the Red Temple will perform the ceremony might keep them away even if they do approve.” Christopher sighed. “They’re probably going to be horrible to you, though. I see no reason to sugarcoat it, so be prepared. There’s a slight chance my mother might accept you sooner rather than later, but we shouldn’t hold our breath. My brothers will be insufferable, but I’m used to that.”

“As soon as that paper is signed, we can go tell them in person. I dare your brothers to say even one unkind word to you in my hearing.”

Christopher tried to hide a smile as he said, “You do know you’ll have to avoid being arrested, remember?”

“I won’t lay a finger on them, I swear. We’ll make sure there are plenty of witnesses so they can’t claim I did something I didn’t.”

“You’re going to keep things interesting, aren’t you?”

Dash rose again and pushed Christopher’s chair back a little bit. “I certainly am,” he said as he knelt back down.

Christopher turned bright red as Dash began undoing his pants. “What are you doing?” he whispered, his breath hitching even as he leaned back to give Dash better access.

“Just enjoy your meal while I enjoy mine,” Dash said, freeing Christopher’s cock and stroking him until he was hard, which didn’t take long at all. Dash took the shaft into his mouth eagerly, enjoying the sounds his prince made. Arching with equal eagerness, Christopher gripped the table with one hand and tangled the fingers of his other in Dash’s hair.

Dash had never had a more delightful breakfast, and he soon found himself craving seconds.
