Kai looks at me with concern on his face. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” I mumble.
“Are you sure?” he asks inching closer to me and wrapping my hand in his.
A smile spreads across my face. “Yes. It felt good.” I bite my lip while turning my head, shying away from his gaze.
He places his thumb and finger on my chin, turning myhead toward him, and kisses me on the lips. “I’m glad it felt good for you.
He gets off the bed and heads to the closet for a change of boxers and pants. He keeps his back to me, so I can't see anything. I wish I had seen his penis. Better than seeing his brother’s.
After he’s done changing, he grabs my hand, and we head back out to the party. The bass intensifies as we walk. I come to a halt in front of the bathroom, dragging us both in.
“What are you doing?” he asks.
“I gotta pee.”
He turns around and lets me do my business. After, I go to the sink and wash my hands, staring at my reflection in the mirror. My face is flushed, but I don’t mind it. It looks like I have blush on. After washing my hands, I run my hands through my hair, smoothing it out.
“Okay. Let’s go.”
Walking back into the party, I notice the place looks more packed than before. How can so many people fit in here? A sense of nervousness runs through my body. What if the cops come again? At least Kai knows where to run to.
“Where have you been?” Paige yells over the music.
I shrug my shoulders, not wanting to tell her.
“Come downstairs with me and Owen. We’re playing pool.”
“Let’s go,” Kai says.
We get downstairs, which is a little less packed than upstairs. I’m surprised no one is at the pool table. Kai walks over to Owen, and they laugh about something.
“You and Kai on one team, and me and Owen on the other,” Paige says.
“That’s fair,” Owen agrees. Owen has already racked theballs. He takes the first hit, and a striped ball goes into the left corner pocket.
“Do you want to go first?” Kai asks.
Reaching for a pool cue, I lean over in front of a solid ball. Kai comes behind me and helps me get into position.
He points and says, “Make sure the ball goes that way.”
I do as he says, and the ball goes into the right pocket.
“That’s cheating,” Paige says.
“No, it’s not. Owen can show you, too.”
“She walks over to the side of the pool table and leans over. “Come on, Owen.” She shakes her ass a little while bending over.
Kai and I both look over at him. He’s wide-eyed with a big smile on his face. Kai wraps me in his arms as we watch them hit the ball. Every time he wraps his arms around me I feel as if the world fades leaving the two of us in our love bubble. We haven’t spoken about earlier but ever since then, there has been a closeness between us. An unspoken connection that’s unlike anything I’ve ever felt before.
Pitter-patter sounds wake me up slightly. It sounds like raindrops hitting a window in a rainstorm. Or is it my brain throbbing against my skull? A sliver of light distracts my focus.
Where am I?
I’m so confused.
