“Yea,” Logic answered honestly.

“Do you buy her shit?”

“Sometimes.”

“She stays the night with you?”

“Yea.”

“Then she’s your girl,” Tyler stated rationally. “Yall niggas kill me trying to put boundaries on fucking. I’m pretty sure her bobble-headed ass thinks she’s your woman, and she has every right to. She over there bussing it open for you, and you think she’s not going to stake claim.”

Her words rang true, and Logic couldn’t deny it. Scottie claimed him all over social media, and even though he made it clear they weren’t together, his words didn’t match his actions. Scottie had a key to his apartment, she had a drawer in his house, while he wanted to believe they were on the same page, Logic knew they weren’t.

“She used to be my girl, but not anymore.” He felt the need to explain. “I have a lot going on nowadays and she’ll do whatever to get back in my good graces. I don’t have time to vet new people to be around my siblings while I’m working, so it’s her.”

“So you’re using her?”

“I wouldn’t put it like that. There are benefits for us both.”

“Mm.”

“But that’s a story for another day. Call me, aight?” Logic reached over and grabbed her hand. “Can I get a hug?”

Tyler’s body reacted before she had the chance to say no. She allowed Logic to help her stand to her feet and then wrap his arms around her. He smelled so good and his hug was so tight,so genuine, and it was just what she needed. Closing her eyes, Tyler melted in his embrace, not caring about the flashing lights and low whispers around them. Logic held her tight as if he was trying to drain her of all the defeated energy that was trapped in her heart.

“You still smell good as fuck,” Logic released her. “When you need a mental break or just wanna hide from the world, call me, aight?”

“Aight.” Tyler warmly smiled.

“Be easy, sweetheart.”

“You too.” She watched him back away. “Oh, and Logic,” Tyler called out, causing him to stop walking. “I saw your performance on YouTube the other day, you looked real comfortable on stage.”

“I was,” he smirked. “I was thinking about this girl I met.”

“Hm, she sounds special.”

“She is.” Logic winked before smoothly bopping out of the restaurant.

Chapter Thirteen

“And if you gone bounce back after being played by a dirty nigga, do it with an upcoming rapper that got the girls gagging, you hear me!” Nesha Re clapped her hands. “See, yall counted my girl down and out, but I knew she’d bounce back. Look at them, that hug is personal baby, and I’m here for it.” She stared at the pictures of Logic and Tyler that were going viral.

“I still think it’s too soon. Homegirl needs to work on herself before getting with another man.” Montie twisted her lips. “They do look cute though.”

“I disagree.” Nesha Re vehemently shook her head. “If anything gone help you get over a nigga, it’s a new dick, and baby Logic is hood so I know he talking my girl through it. Our little bottom of the barrel rapper is climbing to the top if I do say so myself.”

“Can you believe Bobbi is pregnant by Dex?” Montie asked with pursed lips.

“I actually can. See, what these new girls gotta realize is that everybody isn't your friend, and sharing the same blood assomeone doesn’t make you family. Bobbi is a snake, and Dexter is a typical rapping ass nigga. Who knows how long they’ve been fucking,” Nesha Re ranted.

“Well, let’s just hope she doesn’t go back to that scrub.”

“I have faith in my girl. She’s never going back.”

Dexter muted the podcast and kept scrolling. He tried to act like he wasn’t bothered by the pictures of Tyler and Logic floating around the internet, but he was. His insides were on fire, and the palm of his hand itched. Dexter wanted nothing more than to go snatch her ass up and bring her home, but he couldn’t. He couldn’t be the one chasing her. Dexter needed her to come back groveling, but Tyler was on bullshit. She didn’t try to call him after the whole jail situation, nor did she try to fight him for her belongings. Dexter reasoned that she must’ve been sneaking shit out of the skyrise because he couldn’t see her starting from scratch. In his mind, this was all part of her plan because it damn sure wasn’t part of his.

Dexter's plan was to drug Tyler at the club, take her to a hotel, and record her doing a bunch of nasty shit with a couple of strippers. Carla told him it was the only way to keep Tyler from leaving Oakwood, and he was all for it. Dexter agreed that she needed to be knocked down a couple of notches. They were going to blackmail her into signing the contract, but shit went left when the lights went out. Although he had a fucked-up way of showing it, Dexter loved Tyler, and he tore the club apart looking for her. When Shane informed him that Tyler was with them, Dexter was vexed. He had spent all night combing the streets for her, only to find out that she was somewhere chilling.
