Chapter Three
As the woman dressedas a sexy elf turned away, Enrico checked the shiny gold nametag over her heart.Celyn.So this was Celyn Berry, the woman he had come to check out.
She was just as beautiful as the letter she had written that continued to warm his chest.Looking in her eyes, he’d seen no darkness, no meanness, no hatred.Just sadness and exhaustion.Probably because her brother was on the other side of the world instead of at home with his family.
That first look in her pale green eyes also told him that she was the woman he had spent the last several hundred years wishing and dreaming and searching for.A woman whose love for others equaled his own.
But would she be willing to relocate to be with him and become one of Santa’s helpers?
Or would he have to walk away from his life of service to the world in order to be with her?
As she crossed to the bar to talk to her coworkers about his drink order, Enrico could not look away from her swaying hips. His cock swelled and hardened to its full length as her full ass moved. He slid his hands in the pockets of his coat to camouflage the erection from the woman standing behind the bar staring at him with undisguised interest.
Celyn returned a few minutes later empty-handed.“I’m sorry, we don’t have anything like what you requested. We do have some hot coffee, and Micah makes a wicked chocolate martini, if you’d like one of those instead?”
Enrico smiled as she moved close once again, which was fine with him.He liked her in his space. He’d love to take her somewhere private so they could explore every inch of this intense attraction blossoming between them.
“No, thank you,” he said.“Since it’s closing time, would you join me for a hot chocolate and piece of pie at that all-night diner across the parking lot?”
He waited patiently as Celyn thought over his invitation. When she glanced over her shoulder, he followed her gaze to the bar.Her co-workers were grinning and nodding their approval.
The woman grinned as she made shooing motions.“Go on, Celyn. We’ll finish up here.”
She turned back to him and smiled shyly.“Okay, but I need to change clothes first,” she said.
“But I like what you’re wearing. It suits your loving, giving personality to a T,” he said, reaching out and settling one hand on her shoulder. She frowned up at him in confusion.
“Do I know you?”
“Not yet, but I’m hoping we’ll get to know each other very well very soon.”
“But who are you?”
That question stopped Enrico for a moment. Then he decided to go with the truth. The last thing he would ever do was lie to this woman, even if the truth was a bit more than most humans could understand.“Enrico Leonardo Francisco. But my friends call me Elf.You could call me Enrico or Rico, if you’d like.”
“Elf?Like one of Santa’s helpers?”
