A rush of endorphins surges through me. My lip curves up as I smile. “I can’t wait to see her.”
Reaper moves toward us with knitted brows.
“What’s up, pres?” I ask him.
“Ava’s been up vomiting all night again.”
“You don’t have to come to the wedding,” says Bomber.
He gives us a funny look. “There’s no way she would stay and miss out. She doesn’t care if she takes something with her to vomit into.”
“She’s really popped out,” Axle chimes in.
“Yep,” Reaper says proudly. “About four weeks to go.”
Reaper peers at Bomber. “Are you excited for your wedding?”
“He’s nervous,” I reply for him.
Bomber narrows his eyes at me. He’d never admit it.
As we walk out of the clubhouse, I feel the best I’ve felt in months at the thought of celebrating Bomber and Zara’s wedding… And maybe I can save my marriage too.
* * *
After we pullinto the parking lot, we walk through the amusement park and to the hall where the ceremony and reception will be held. Having the wedding at the amusement park holds sentimental value for Zara.
With every step, my heart beats a little faster at the thought of seeing Sophie. As we walk inside, there’s a hum of conversation, with people sitting in rows on either side of an aisle.
The hall is decked with roses and fancy white decorations. From what I heard, the women and Zara’s parents have been working on it for the last two days. It looks great. Bomber and Twitch move to the front podium, toward Zara’s parents and the priest.
The wide-eyed look on the priest’s face has me chuckling. I bet he wishes he wasn’t the one doing this wedding. I scan the room for Sophie and see the back of her brothers’ and father’s heads on the left-hand side of the room toward the front. I make my way over until I’m standing by them.
Harrison and Lawson stand, give me a smile, and shake my hand. “Hey, man. Good to see you,” I say to Harrison.
“You too,” he replies.
Alec stands next. He shakes my hand but doesn’t smile, though I’m used to his cold behavior.
Garrett gives me the slightest head tilt in acknowledgment. My eyes open wide. He’s the one who caused me to lose the only woman I’ve ever had feelings for. A part of me despises him, but I know I’ve got to bury that, especially if I want to have a word with him later on.
I lean in close to Lawson and lower my voice. “Where’s Sophie?”
“She’s with the other women at the front,” Lawson replies.
Nerves make my stomach coil. More people are coming in and taking their seats. “Well… I better get going. I presume I sit on the other side,” I say with a head tilt to the right.
“That’s correct,” says Alec.
I glance down at my jeans, shirt, and MC cut. They are in suits. I wonder if me being a biker influenced Sophie’s decision to leave. Maybe she had no intention of staying with me. I shake my head at the toxic thoughts.
As I walk by Bomber’s family, I smile, and greet them, then slide into the seat next to Axle just as the music starts to play. Bomber is standing at the podium in front of the priest. As I scan the crowd, Sophie, Elena, and Ava take their seats in the front row.
Sophie has her hair all done up. It’s something simple that shows off her shoulders and neck, which is sexy as hell.
Everyone turns toward the back of the hall, where Zara is slowly walking step by step, her arm linked through her father’s. She looks beautiful and has gone with a black wedding dress instead of a white one. It suits them as a couple, as Bomber isn’t dressed in a traditional suit either.
Zara smiles at the crowd of people, making everyone smile back at her. When they reach the podium, her father hands her off to Bomber, and they smile at each other. I’m happy for them, but I can’t deny the twinge of jealousy at Zara and Bomber being able to spend the rest of their lives with each other.
