I cover Gem with his robe and find my pants to cover my dick, scowling at the floor, but Treyu will know my anger’s meant for him.

“C’mon, Atlanta. I’m sorry for mouthing off.”

The mouthing off didn’t help, but if he thinks that’s all he’s on the hook for, he’s in for a surprise later. If I say anything now, I’ll regret it. It’s better to deal with him once I’ve cooled off. I take Gem’s hand and pull him along with me.

“Zhang, I give you permission to protect me from him. Be my knight in shining red, babe,” Treyu says, his voice trailing out the door.

“Sorry, babe. You’re on your own with him,” is the last thing I hear until we’re too far away to hear anymore.

Ew. Babe this and babe that. “They’re disgusting, we’re not like that, are we, Gem?”

Gem halts and since I’m attached to him, I’m forced to stop too unless I want him to trip on his pretty toes. It stings when his hand ghosts over my swelling eye, and a serene smile spreads on his lips.

“We’re ultra-disgusting, baby.”

I’m not a blusher, but even I know what the distinct wave of embarrassment that rushes through me means. It pisses me off. “We are fucking not, Gem. C’mon.”

I half drag him—carefully—but I know his smile’s changed to pure amusement.

“Not funny,” I say.

“You’re blushing, Atlanta Orion.”

This is why I didn’t want a relationship, but I don’t breathe right without Gemini. Fuck him for being such a brat today, though. He laughs when I heave him over my shoulder, but he won’t be laughing when I warm his ass with my hand.

CHAPTERTWENTY-FOUR

Treyu

“Now, Atlanta, be reasonable. I’d been through an ordeal. I was chased by a murderous seraph. Stop it!”

I’m trying to hide behind my overly large husband, but I don’t think it’s going to be long before he assists Atlanta. My brother’s set on spanking my ass, and unlike Zhang, who’s been easy on me if I’m being honest, Atlanta has no qualms about spanking me until I scream.

His brows make one long terrifying frown.

“Get over here,now.”

The Treyu motto is as such. There are four men in my life who say jump and I say, how high. Atlanta’s one of them, but he also happens to be the exception to the rule for a few things. I’ll at least try to run when he’s threatening to beat my ass, not that I’ve ever succeeded.

“Counting works well on him,” Zhang provides, unhelpfully.

I whack his arm. “Not nice.” I sigh and march to my doom. Atlanta’s just entered the main deck and I didn’t miss the wooden paddle he brought with him. Because I haven’t stirred enough trouble, I cross my arms at him. “I get it, you’re blaming me for getting abducted by angels. But tell me, can you really blame them for taking me? I’m darn loveable.”

“Get your pants down.”

“Atlanta!” But I’m already undoing my pants and pulling them down. He’s not going to let this one go. “Will you at least tell me what it’s for?”

“Hands against the wall.”

I groan but obey. Pissing off my already pissed-off brother is ill-advised. Bruising pain blooms on my bare right ass cheek, quickly followed by the same pain on my left. It doesn’t stop until I’m seriously thinking about biting my tongue in half.

I know my brother, though. He spanks and stabs with love. I must have scared him somehow, and I accept the chastisement.

“Father’s too easy on you. Everyone’s too easy on you. That’s why you’re in so much trouble—angels abducting you, someone trying to kill you, fuck, angel DNA, Treyu?”

“I cannot be held accountable for what Earth Me did—ow!” He lays another couple of wallops down with his stupid paddle.

“I didn’t want you dating Merrick in the first place. He’s a scoundrel. If I catch you anywhere near him again, I don’t care where I am in the galaxy, I’ll hunt you down and make this feel like fucking feathers.”
