“Can we just watch a movie? And what do I wear for tonight?”

“I got you covered,” Cain kisses her cheek before flopping down on the couch causing her to giggle.

“These couches are so comfy,” he pats the cushion next to him and she takes a seat.

“Oh my. They are,” she snuggles in as I join her on the other side. I find the remotes and turn the TV on and find something to watch.

“She’s asleep,” Cain says, not five minutes later.

“I thought she would be. She rarely makes it through a whole one and this has been a day for her,” I say, smoothing her hair down.

“What do you think he will say about her?” Cain asks.

“I don’t know. I didn’t even get to bring up the killer part of her. I’ll deal with it tomorrow,” I shrug.

He turns to the movie as do I, wondering what tomorrow will bring.

Joelle

Dinner last night was interesting. Not the food, the food was delicious. Abel’s father was cordial, I’m guessing he’s trying to see if he likes me or not. His brother looked angry the whole time.

I’m lounging in the pool by myself since Abel and Cain are with his father.

“Why hello there,” I hear a male voice and I tense since I don’t know everyone.

“Umm hi,” I say, moving to the side farther away from the man.

“You’re Joelle?”

“I am and you are?”

“I’m a friend of Abel’s. He told me you were pretty, but he was wrong, you’re gorgeous.”

“Thank you, but you still didn’t tell me your name,” I say as the man stalks closer to me. My hackles are raised and this man screams danger.

“Oh sweetheart, you don’t need to know who I am,” is all he says. I don’t have control over what I’m doing, but I know I’m doing it when I grab his tie when he bends down to talk to me. I haul him into the water and hold his head under the surface. It’s like I have superhuman strength as he tries to fight me. I manage to hold him under until he stops struggling. I leave him, wipe my tears and go back to lounging in my unicorn float.

“What the fuck?” Cain asks as he walks in to check on me.

“Sorry,” I shrug.

“What happened?”

“I think you know the answer to that. He called me that word. Before he said it, my mind was screaming at me that he wasn’t a nice guy.”

“Most of the men in the house aren’t nice guys,” he snorts as if I didn’t just kill someone.

“I’m sorry,” I state.

“Wait, you remember everything?”

“I do. I knew I was doing it, I just couldn’t control my body,” I say.

“Interesting. The doctor is going to come to look at you, and see if we can deprogram you,” he says, helping me out of the pool, his hands sliding down to my ass and squeezing. I wish I wasn’t wearing anything right now.

“Later, little one,” he chuckles as he drives me off. I hop in the shower and make it a quick one before dressing in a pair of linen black pants and a sequined tank top, completing my look with gladiator sandals. I’ve come to realize that this household isn’t a jeans and tee kind of household. Though Abel and Cain both said they didn’t care what I wore, but they both have nice suits on today. I want to look nice.

“Ready?” Cain asks. I nod and take his hand. He leads me back to the main wing and then we go down to a basement and I pull on his hand.
