He leaned forward and pressed a chaste kiss to my lips. “I am. If you’d asked me a week ago whether I would have been comfortable with this, I would have laughed in your face. But now? I don’t know.” He shrugged as he huffed out a disbelieving laugh. “It feels…”

“Right,” Alec supplied when Monroe’s words faltered.

I watched as he placed his empty plate on the coffee table then plucked at a loose thread on his shorts. He was looking down, staring a hole in the carpet.

“It feels right,” he added more quietly this time.

“Yeah, it does,” Monroe agreed without hesitation.

Alec sucked in a breath and glanced up, our gazes clashing and holding.

“And you, Alec? Are you okay with it being the three of us?” I asked.

He nodded. “I’m very okay with it.” His voice was a low, smokey rasp, deliciously sexy and rough.

Electricity sparked between us, and that familiar desire pooled low in my belly.

He was so utterly beautiful, but there was so much more to him than his looks. I swayed toward him, begging him to kiss me, and he reached out and ran his fingers through my hair. I leaned into his touch, and he shifted, turning into me before pressing his lips to mine. He kissed me slowly, a soft melding of our mouths. When he swiped his tongue over my lip, I opened for him. But instead of claiming me like he’d done in the past, he kept it slow and steady. His tongue glanced against mine, touching and teasing before retreating again.

“Let us make you feel good, beautiful,” Monroe murmured against my nape as he kissed down my spine.

The vibration of his voice sent shivers through me, and I clenched my thighs, desperately needing the friction.

I broke Alec’s kiss and leaned my head back. I sucked in a breath. My mind swam with a heady mix of desire and anticipation. “Yes,” I moaned as Alec nibbled my jaw before kissing my throat.

The words were barely out before Alec hooked his arm under my legs. I squeaked in surprise, and when he lifted me bride style, I threw my arms around his broad shoulders.

“Wait,” I protested.

Alec froze and tilted his head, waiting for me to speak. When I winced, he raised his brow. “You aren’t going to warn me that you’re too heavy, are you?”

“Um, yes?”

“Brace yourself on my shoulders for a second. Just hold on so you don’t overbalance.”

“No, Alec—”

“Do you trust me, Cara? Because, seriously, if we’re about to get naked, I hope you at least trust me enough to let me show you something. Just hold on for a second. It won’t hurt either of us.”

I hadn’t known him for long, but I did trust him. Implicitly. I nodded and grasped his shoulders, willing myself not to tense up and show him how nervous I was.

He tucked his elbows into his sides and smirked, that wicked smile that did sexy things to my insides. Then he curled his biceps and lifted me as high as his shoulders. I squealed and gripped him tight.

“Relax, beautiful girl. I won’t drop you.”

He lowered me down again, and my jaw dropped. “You… just….”

He did it again, then a third time.

“Now you’re being a show-off,” I scolded, but my words lacked any heat.

My body was another story. I was burning up, my heart pounding so hard I was sure he could hear it. I was wet, my kitty swollen and throbbing. Desire coursed through my veins. He crushed his mouth to mine, and I whimpered.

I froze, mortified by the sound.

Alec moaned and lowered me further, pressing me against his groin. His hard length branded my hip. My breath shuddered out of my lungs, and he pulsed against me.

Oh. Oh! He likes the noises.
