I’m seeing stars as he pulls the trigger for a fifth time. On the way back down, I realized that I was lucky enough to never land on the bullet. Joy spreads through me, just as Kameron finds his own climax. Pulling out just in time, we both watch as his cum shoots out of him. It decorates my stomach in shiny pearls.
Kameron bends down, giving me the most passionate kiss I’ve ever experienced. Our love zaps through the air around us. Like a frayed wire, landing in water.
After a few moments, he pulls away, leaving both of us breathless. I stare up at him as he brings the gun to the center of my forehead. His eyes widen as he stares at me with a crazed look. Fear overtakes me as I realize what’s going to happen. The sixth round is all that’s left. He wants my life. And what scaresme more than the gun, is that I’m willing to give him it. “I’ll ask one more time, Lilith.Do you trust me?”
“Yes.”

Chapter Twenty
Lilith holds her body in place, completely unmoving. The blank falls to the ground, a clinking noise filling the silence as it rattles against the concrete below us.She did it. My Little Sinner passed her test with flying colors.
I reach up gently caressing her face, trying to help the shock ease. “I’ve hurt hundreds of people in my life, Lilith. You will never be one of them.”
“I-” she starts before letting the rest of her thought drift off through the cold morning air.
“It’s okay baby. I’m here and you’re safe. I will always keep you safe.” I reassure her as I pull her body flush with mine. After a few moments, her arms finally wrap around me and I feel her body sag with relief. I hoist my girl up into my arms and carry her over to the passenger side of the van. Lilith nuzzles into my neck, letting her lips drift across my pulse. A red hue takes over the sky as we both release ourselves to the moment. We are alive. We are here, together. Our time has finally come.
I nudge open the door, using my knee to keep the door held open as I place her delicate body inside. Her eyes never leave mine as I pull her seatbelt snug against her.
“Kameron,” she blurts out as I begin to shut the door. I pause, giving her a warm smile. “I love you too.”
Hand in hand, we sit at the top of the hill overlooking The Garden. We watch as the security guards and patients swarm around to their different stations, moving seamlessly as if they were an ant colony. The morning sun has begun to warm up the ground, leaving our van resting in a puddle of dirty water and mud. This will become its new home, as it’s too dangerous for us to continue on with a vehicle. The small hike over to the facility will be on foot.
“Are you ready?” Lilith questions, sucking in a deep breath as she looks over to me. I look at her now in a completely different light. She has blossomed into a warrior. One that will always lead with her heart, which she has proven impossible to dim. I never thought I could love her more. But here I am.An absolute fool for her.
“Let’s do it, baby.”
We step out of the vehicle, meeting each other at the back of the van. I load up our small packs first before bringing the same gun I had threatened her with into view. “I want you to have this one. A reminder of our trust. If The Garden begins to suck you in, it will be there to remind you that I’m right here.”
I lean forward and gently kiss her lips as I place the gun into her palm. She looks down at it with admiration before slipping it into the holster placed on her side. “It’s already loaded, but the second one in your bag is not. If you need to reload, make sure that I’m there to cover you,” I warn her.
“Thank you,” she grins at me. She leans forward once again, giving me the opportunity to kiss her. I will never pass one of those up. I lean in, pressing my lips to hers. Immediately her fingers tug at my hair, turning my head sideways to give her better access. Her tongue explores me, searching every inch of my mouth. The kiss leaves me feeling dizzy with a floating feeling I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to.
“Let’s burn this place to the ground,” I say as I pull back. She smirks at me, knowing I’m quoting her. I get lost in that beautiful smile, but she breaks my stare as she spins on her heels and begins walking down the slope.
I laugh as I quicken my pace to catch up.Impatient girl, she’ll be punished for that one later.
Thirty minutes pass of us dragging our feet through the muddy ground. Pine trees help keep us covered as we make our way closer to the target. With each step I feel my heart beat pick upspeed. It’s been far too long since I’ve killed someone, and the fear of failing grasps onto me. As The Garden finally returns to view I feel the clouds begin to roll into my vision.Fuck fuck fuck. Not now. Please not now.
I shake my head, hoping to stop the vision from overtaking me, but all it does is make the world around me darker. I drop to my knees, letting the wet ground soak into my jeans. Lilith spins to look at me, rushing over and dropping down next to me.
“I’m going away again. Please help me.” I mumble out, feeling each word drag across my tongue.
Then
“The money has been transferred over,” Apollyon reassures me from his side of the desk. I glance around at the dark green walls, looking out the window for a short moment. South Carolina is so beautiful, but it’s full of fucking monsters.
“All twenty five thousand?” I ask, bringing my focus back to the old man. He leans forward, accidentally nudging his Virgin Mary statue with the side of his arm. I watch as she slightly loses her balance before standing upright again at the edge of his desk.
It’s been two years since I graduated from the Sixth Sector. Each day, I’ve grown stronger, faster, more lethal. I’ve become a force to be reckoned with. One Apollyon wasn’t expecting. Truthfully, I don't think he expected me to ever see the outside world again. Assuming I was too weak to make it out alive.
Now he lines my pockets with many pretty pennies to keep me in line. In return I do his dirty work, keeping his employees in line, and eradicating those who go against him. Each dollar that lands in my account, is one more dollar closer to escaping. And I can’t wait for that day. I plan on traveling the world, spending my time giving back to those who deserve it the most. I will spend the rest of my life repenting for the sins I’ve been building up.
“Yes. It should all be there. However Kameron, we need to talk about business.” I raise my eyebrow at him, waiting for him to continue. “My nephew, Elijah, is almost of age. He will be working directly under me, and overtime I expect you to begin taking orders from him as well.”
Annoyance douses me like cold water. Elijah Huang. I’ve known about him since I became Apollyon’s ward. I used to hear him and his cousins playing below me, while I was locked up in the attic. I was never allowed to join the other children, and although it wasn’t his fault, my grievances with him began then. Since then, the wound has done nothing but fester into something unhealable. Elijah was given the life. The money, the family, the childhood, and now the fucking keys to the kingdom. I’ve tried hard to hold in my resentment, but no matter how hard I fight I can’t not hate him.
