Jaime tucked his chin back in, nuzzling further into Finn’s side. “So this isn’t casual, for you?”

“No. No Jaime, this is not casual. It never has been. This, what’s between you and I… there are things I still need to tell you about me, about what I am. It will help all of this make sense, why this feels so intense. But before we do that, I want to make sure you’re ok with what we did together downstairs.”

Jaime sat up and looked at him in surprise. “I—yes! That was amazing, Finn. I wanted that. I want you.” He blushed and pulled back, sitting up fully. “I’ve, um. I’ve never done that. With anyone. Ever.” He cast his eyes around, twisting the hem of Finn’s t-shirt so that it was riding even further up the soft swell of his thighs.

Focus.

Finn reached out and took Jaime’s hand in his, thumbs soothing along the tops of his knuckles. Jaime’s eyes found his again and some of the tension left his body. “I’ve exchanged exactly two handjobs with a guy I met in college, but it never went further before school got out for the summer and he movedback home. We hadn’t really been seeing each other, so when he left we just stopped talking, it wasn’t like a breakup or anything.”

Finn nodded, and Jaime continued. “So I’ve never, you know, had sex. Or, anything else. What we did, for me, was everything. It felt like everything.”

He pulled Jaime back into him. “It was everything for me, too. And I definitely want to do it again, and more, if that’s what you want. Soon.Very soon,” Finn growled. “But I really do need to tell you some things first, so that you know what being with me would entail.”

“I know. Thank you. And I do understand why you’ve kept this from me. It’s not exactly the kind of thing you can just go around telling people. I still think you should have told me about Jeffrey Dugan’s involvement from the start, but I understand why you kept this part from me,” Jaime said.

Finn palmed the back of his neck. “Right, about that… let me shower first, and then I’ll tell you everything.”

Jaime raised an eyebrow at him, but agreed. “Fine.”

Chapter 15

Jaime

Jaime was physically and emotionally exhausted from everything that had already happened that day, but he kept himself awake while Finn showered by snooping through his room and then moving his clothes to the dryer. He threw on a pair of his old, ratty sweats, and when he stepped back into the room, Finn was already dressed in a soft t-shirt and white boxer briefs.

Yum.

The apprehensive look on Finn’s face pulled him from marveling that he’d felt that prominent bulge in Finn’s underwear come all over him just an hour or so ago, and he pushed aside thoughts of heated touches and slick tongues so that they couldtalk.

Ugh, fine.

He took Finn’s hand as they settled back onto the king-sized bed and sat cross-legged, knee to knee, while Finn filled him in on, well, everything.

Ok, noteverything.

He hadn’t explained what he was implying about them beingtogethertogether, yet. But what he had told Jaime was quite enough to process, for now, thank you very much. It was stilltrue, though, that he felt better after knowing the full scope of the mess he’d found himself in, that he felt more grounded and present than he had in a very long time.

And not all of that was due to Finn tugging his soul out through his dick a few hours ago.

Fuck, that had been the absolute hottest thing he’d ever experienced in his life, and he’d read enough smut and experimented with enough sex toys to know a thing or two about intense orgasms, even if they had been at his own hand. Or his own vibrating dildo.

The way they had come together was completely overwhelming, leaving Jaime feeling spent and unmoored until he looked into Finn’s eyes and swore he felt a warmpullsnap between them, tethering him.

And Finn hadn’t let him flounder.

No, he’d held him through it all, and then opened up to Jaime about his past sex life in a way that made Jaime feel like he could talk about his, or the lack thereof, in a way that wasn’t embarrassing. It had been perfect, and Jaime very much wanted to do it again. He wanted more.

But right now, he needed to process the fact that a very large and powerful wolf pack was actively trying to kill him because of the vague possibility that he had incriminating information on one of their high ranking members.

“If they are this intense over someone whomightbe able to cause trouble for them, what do they do to someone who is actually a threat?”

Finn reached out and took hold of one of his hands, stopping him from fiddling with the hem of his t-shirt. Finn’s t-shirt. That had been a spontaneous moment of bravery, and Jaime was very glad he’d ridden the wave of confidence, because walking out of the bathroom and seeing the lust glaze Finn’s eyes had been very fun.

“They kill them.”

Jaime whipped his head up. “Wait, are you saying you think Vera was a threat to them? And that’s why they killed her?”

Finn shrugged. “I don’t know. The part I told you about before is true; if I had to bet, she died so that Jeffrey has control over the Novikov fortune. But, maybe she was.”
