Melody bit her lip but nodded, stopping when she drew level with Cara. “Don’t break his heart. He’s one of a kind.”
Cara met the model’s stare. “I know.”
With one last look over her shoulder, Melody left, closing the door behind her.
“Cara,” Wes started. “I didn’t know she was coming. I told her—”
“I heard.”
Wes was wary. Had she heard Melody saying they belonged together?
“She’s having a classic Melody freak out. I told her—”
“Did you mean it?”
He couldn’t interpret the look on her face as she walked further into the room. “That I never loved her? That I love you?”
“No, that you want to marry me.”
His eyes searched hers. “With every molecule of my body.”
“Then you should probably ask me.”
