“Darren, I’d say it’s good to see ya, but we both know that would be a lie,” I state causing Darren to slowly lift his head a slight amount so he can see me.“What the fuck are you doin’?Why did you fake your death and put Cali through hell over the last year?Especially with the stalker bullshit.”
“You’re all truly fuckin’ stupid.None of you have the slightest clue about why I became your friend to begin with.I’ve been thinkin’ about this day since the second I knew you would be showin’ up at the football camp.I paid to be put in your room and pretended to be fuckin’ pathetic and a loner just to get you to want to step up and pull me into your world,” Darren says as confusion fills me because this doesn’t make any sense to me.“You really don’t know who I am, do you?”
“I have no fuckin’ clue who you are,” I growl out, already getting bored with Darren’s shit.
“What about you, Playboy?Do you have any clue who I am?”he questions my dad as I watch him step up and examine Darren closely.
“Don’t know who you are, Darren.Other than a piece of shit coward,” my dad finally says, stepping back next to me and folding his arms over his chest.
“I would think you’d remember the man you killed years ago.The man who’s woman you stole and made yours,” Darren says, his eyes locked on my dad as I start to put the pieces together.He’s talking about my biological father.A man who beat the hell out of my mom and was taken care of by the club so long ago.
“What do you have to do with Carl?”my dad questions Darren while once again stepping closer to the pussy in front of us.
“I’m his nephew.Caleb and I are cousins.I’ve been waitin’ for years to put this plan in motion.To get revenge for you senseless killin’ him.Carl didn’t ever do anythin’ wrong to you and yet you took his life without a second thought.All for some skank who cried and said he hurt her.The bitch probably needed to be put in her place and my uncle did it for her,” Darren spits out, his voice hard and cold as he tries to glare at the men in the room with him.“Just like I put Cali in her place every day I was around her.I might not have put my hands on her, but I made her feel like shit and less than she is.I broke her down every fuckin’ day we were together until she became a shell of herself.Not that she was anythin’ to begin with.”
“Shut your fuckin’ mouth!”I yell, stepping up and grabbing the first thing my hand lands on.With a pair of pliers in hand, I nod to my brother and Luca.They grab his hands and hold them for me as I begin to rip out each one of us his nails.“Cali is a sweet woman who never once deserved to be treated as anythin’ less than a fuckin’ queen.You tried to destroy her, but Cali will come back even stronger than before because we’ll have her back and lift her up every fuckin’ day.”
Darren starts laughing his ass off.I have no clue what the hell I said that was so funny.I’ll do everything in my power to ensure Cali becomes the woman she’s meant to be.He never allowed her to spread her wings and soar the way any man in her life should.I will ensure she does whatever she wants and becomes the best version of herself she can be.
“How did you fake your death?”Kreed steps up next to me and asks him as I finish ripping out his last fingernail.
“That was the easy part.I’ve been plannin’ this shit since the summer before I met you all.The first step was gettin’ in close with you, Caleb.Then I would learn your routines and every single detail of your life.You made it easy by us doin’ everythin’ together.It took me less than a week to realize you were in love with Cali.She then became part of the plan.By destroyin’ her, I was able to destroy parts of you.Hell, by makin’ her mine, I was able to hurt you.Over the years, you brought me into your family and I got to know everythin’ about my enemies.You opened the fuckin’ door for me, Caleb, and had no clue what I was doin’ or that I’m actually your fuckin’ cousin.
“I learned to become a patient man and played the long game in order to take you all out.While I was married to Cali, I fucked so many women and none of you had any clue I was cheatin’ on her.My favorite was Abigail though.Do you all know your President never once fucked her?Not even in high school.She’s been helpin’ me get in here once you moved Cali into Kreed’s house.Anyway, I made an order for a drug that would allow me to fake my death.I swallowed this nasty ass drink and it slowed my heart enough for you not to detect a heartbeat.My entire team is here and I bet you have been lost without me for the last year,” Darren brags, his voice full of laughter as Master and Force step up to Darren.
“We heard you take your last fuckin’ breath, Darren.Mourned you in that fuckin’ sand pit and then made sure your body was brought home to your wife and children.We’ve been grievin’ for you for the last fuckin’ year and have been takin’ care of your wife and children durin’ that time.Everythin’ we’ve done has been with you in mind and you’ve been sittin’ back and watchin’ us this entire time.Fuck you, Darren!”Force says, getting his hands dirty by throwing a few punches after I step out of his way.
Each member of our team steps up and gets their hands dirty.None of them take the kill shot though.That will be mine.Not a single one of the men we served with say a word to Darren.They don’t have to.The looks on each one of their faces says more than what they ever could verbally.The hurt, betrayal, and disgust filling all of us is the worst thing Darren could ever do to us.We all became extremely close over the years we served together and were there for each win and loss we encountered.Our team became bonded over the horrors we witnessed and the pain of being away from our loved ones more often than not.Darren took all of that and threw it away like it meant absolutely nothing to him.
“So, this is all because we killed your piece of shit, abusive uncle?”my dad questions Darren, stepping up in front of him.“Do you know what a fuckin’ asswipe he was?What he put Sam through.A woman you treated like your own family since Caleb first brought you home.Sam gave you everythin’ you weren’t gettin’ from your own mom because of your father’s treatment of her.I guess bein’ abusive pieces of horse shit run in your family.”
“Fuck you, Playboy.We’re not abusive.We know how to put our women in check and make them follow our orders.You fuckin’ pussies let your women run wild and rule over you when you’re not in the clubhouse.Cali was startin’ to act just like them until I put her back in check,” Darren spits out and no one sees Tank push past everyone to land a punch directly in Darren’s already beaten face.
“Youareabusive, Darren.The women you’re talkin’ so much shit about loved you like their own.They fed you, clothed you, and made sure you always had a place to land when things got too bad at home.We might let them have their independence and go out, but they always know we have their back and will protect them at all costs.You never once protected Cali because it’s what you’re supposed to do.It was all part of your plan and you took advantage of her.I’m glad she beat the shit out of you before any of us even got close,” Tank yells in his face, the veins in his neck sticking out and throbbing with every beat of his heart being the only indicator of how truly pissed off he is.
“Carl put Sam through hell.She was nothin’ more than a walkin’ shell with no confidence or self-esteem.Every man in this room and ol’ lady in the Wild Kings and Phantom Bastards worked hard to help her build herself back up.She spent years workin’ on herself to become the woman I love more than life itself.We will never force them to remain in the house waitin’ on us hand and foot and only bein’ allowed to leave when it’s time to go to work.You were slowly strippin’ away every single part of Cali that made her the amazin’ girl she is.And now, you’ve turned her into the one thing she never wanted to be—a cheater,” my dad says, rearing back and slamming his fist into Darren’s torso.
We listen as Darren grunts in pain and tries to hide how bad it really hurts him.With Tank’s hit, his eyes rolled back in his head before he managed to get himself under control and put the mask back in place that nothing we do is bothering him.
“How did you manage to have money over the last year?”Master questions him as he steps up behind me since he already got his hits in.
“I never once gave Cali any money.She paid for everythin’ while we were married.Every move, all the bills, the groceries, anytime I wanted beer or anythin’ else.That bitch paid for it all because I refused to allow her to touch my money.What’s hers was mine and what’s mine was mine.As far as turnin’ her into a cheater, it was only a matter of time before she fucked Caleb.Ya know, I asked her if she fucked you and Kreed at the same time or not.Cali didn’t like that shit.I was there the night you fucked her, Caleb.Saw every second of your time together.The bitch never touched me the way she touched you.That’s why I couldn’t stand fuckin’ her.She was like a fuckin’ lump just layin’ there,” Darren says, his voice cold and hard as he keeps his eyes locked on me.
Dylan steps up and starts to beat the shit out of Darren.My brother has always loved Cali and won’t tolerate anyone talking about her the way Darren just did.It’s no secret Kreed and I have shared women in the past.We both enjoyed doing that every once in a while and it didn’t hurt anyone.No, Cali didn’t know about it because we didn’t want her to judge us or treat us differently because of sexual things we like to participate in.No, I would never share Cali with anyone and Kreed would never take that step with her.Cali is mine and no one will ever touch her again.
“You’re a fuckin’ bastard!”Dylan shouts before tipping Darren’s head back so he’s looking him in the eyes.“Your uncle beat the shit out of my mom and almost caused her to have a miscarriage when she was pregnant with Caleb.He treated her like shit and never once loved her.The way you were with Cali and your dad is with your mother is nothin’ compared to what your uncle did to my mom.I’m glad he was killed by my dad and hope he’s rotting in hell.The same place you’ll be soon enough when my brother ends your miserable, pathetic, cowardly life.And as for Cali cheatin’ on you with my brother, I don’t consider it cheatin’ because you already walked away.Even though you were only fakin’ your death, the two of you are still separated and that means she never cheated on you.Fuckin’ bitch boy!”
“Here’s what I know.You faked your death for the last year and stalked your wife because you’re a sick piece of shit.I’m guessin’ your father knew you were alive this entire time and would’ve helped you if that’s what you wanted.He probably got the idea to go after Cali’s job from you.You betrayed every fuckin’ man in this room in one way or another.You’re abusive to your wife and son.Abuse is more than physical abuse, Darren, and you should know that more than any of us standin’ around you.If I had known the extent of how you were treatin’ Cali, I would have gotten her away from you a long time ago.I agree with Dylan, Cali never cheated on you the night we were together.I love her and will make sure she realizes that shit for the rest of her life.

Torturing Darren and dragging this shit out would be too good for him.There are times Darren thrives off the pain inflicted on him.I refuse to give him an ounce of happiness after everything he revealed tonight.He used us all in his plan for revenge for a man who never once deserved it.My birth father was a piece of shit and I’m happy as fuck he was killed by my real dad.I hate sharing DNA with assholes like Carl and Darren.To know my uncle is Darren’s dad eats away at me.He’ll get what’s coming to him though.I’ll make sure of it.
“Get cleaned up so we can get you back to the hospital.There’s no updates yet,” my papa says, taking the gun from my hand and turning me toward the door of the cell.
“I’ll dispose of the trash,” Luca states, a calmness to him I haven’t seen since Cali was taken.He got his revenge on her behalf by beating on Darren and now he’ll be the one to ensure he’s buried where no one will ever find his body.I look at the rest of the members of my club and they all know what I’m saying without a word being spoken—Luca deserves to be patched in as a full member before the year is up.
With a nod of my head, I leave the cell behind.With every step I take the feeling that I betrayed Darren sheds more from my shoulders and the weight I’ve been carrying.I know I can move forward with Cali and make her my ol’ lady and wife without that holding either one of us back.We’re finally free and will never allow thoughts of Darren to haunt the relationship we should have had since we were in school.With a smile on my face, I grab my cut and make my way to the showers we have in the basement to clean up so we don’t track anything through the clubhouse.I’m ready to get back to the hospital and wait for Cali.Once she’s out of surgery and I can go to her room, I’m never leaving her side again.My girl will always know she has me at her side to protect and love her.To raise our family together and create as many memories as possible.I want it all with Cali and I’ll give her everything she’s ever dreamed of since she was a little girl.
