Chapter Sixteen
Reckless
KNOWING CALIANA HASmore than one person after her guts me.There’s no way one person could be at the grocery store to destroy her SUV like it was and also on the compound to leave everything behind on Kreed’s porch at the same time.This woman is so damn sweet and doesn’t deserve this shit happening to her.I know she’s scared, but I haven’t been up to see her.I’ve been with Master as he goes through the security footage at the grocery store and the compound to find out what the hell is going on and who’s doing this shit.I think I have a pretty good idea who destroyed her SUV, but I can’t be a hundred percent sure at this point.My only suspect would be Carly.She’d be pissed Cali got her kicked out of the clubhouse and she saw through Carly’s lies about being my fiancée.Cali knows me good enough to realize I would have shared with her and everyone else if I got engaged to someone.It would be spread to the entire world in a heartbeat.Cali and Kreed would be the first to know if I were even thinking about proposing to anyone.Carly definitely wouldn’t be the girl I’d be willing to spend the rest of my life with.She’s a slut and that’s being nice.
Kreed rushed up to his house the second we got the call from Luca.They took pictures of the porch and everything left behind before bagging everything up and putting it in Master’s room with the first set of pictures.Evan disposed of the bunny while Luca took the butterflies.That’s all I know at this point and I’m filled with a rage I only experience when it comes to Cali and the shit being done to her.She has the power to fill me with this protective instinct and I can’t do anything to get it to go away.Even when I don’t see her for months, the need to protect her is overwhelming.Right now, I’m going insane because I don’t know how to protect her from unknown people coming after her.I don’t know who I have to go after.Because if Carly is the one behind the SUV being destroyed, then there’s three people after her.
I leave Master’s room to get us something to eat and drink.My mom messaged me to say dinner was ready and I haven’t eaten at all today.I’ve been worried about putting the final touches on the haunted house and making sure it’s ready to go for opening day.
“Caleb, there you are,” Abigail says, rushing up to me and plastering her body to mine.She tries to wrap herself around me as I push her off.
“I don’t know what the fuck you think you’re doin’, but you have no right to touch me for any reason.I’m not your man and I never will be,” I tell her, my voice hard and cold as I look at her so she understands my words and knows I’m not fucking around.
“Don’t be like that, Caleb.You know you want me.You’ve been mine since we were in high school.Darren got your girl and you chose me,” Abigail says, her voice doing nothing but pissing me off as it brings up memories of the past I don’t want to live through again.
“I never wanted you, Abigail.You’ve been the one to cling to me when I’ve never once had sex with you.I’ve kissed you a few times and that’s it.They weren’t even good kisses.Not comin’ from you anyway.I’m sick and tired of you puttin’ some kind of claim on me when you have none.I haven’t touched you since you walked through the door of this clubhouse and none of the guys want to deal with your bullshit any longer,” I tell her through gritted teeth as Abigail still tries to sink her claws into me while I step aside and move to the common room.
As I look around the room, I notice all the Feral girls we have left are lounging all over the room.They aren’t working or doing anything they’re supposed to as my mom, grandma, and aunt have been doing the cooking and most of the cleaning around the clubhouse when they aren’t up at Kreed’s house with Cali and the kids.I’m sick of this shit and it’s past time to deal with it.
“Everyone listen the fuck up!”I call out, gaining everyone’s attention as my family exits the kitchen and walks in the common room.“Feral girls stand the fuck up and come to the center of the room.Every man in here, you better listen the fuck up to what I’m about to say.This is my decision as the President of this club.”
I wait for the girls to finally get off their lazy asses and move to the center of the room.They take their sweet time as my family take the seats at the back table they’ve made theirs since arriving at the clubhouse the very first time.I’m over their shit and I’m sure a lot of the guys are too.They simply haven’t said anything because they respect women and won’t do anything to hurt them.
“What’s goin’ on, Reckless?”Link asks me as he walks in the common room with a bag in hand.
“That’s easy.I’m sick and tired of the bullshit these skanks are pullin’ on a daily basis.If they’re not wrappin’ themselves around the men with their unwanted attention, then they’re bein’ lazy as fuck.None of them do their jobs with the exception of a select few.Sidney, Lori, and Suki are the only ones this doesn’t pertain to.The three of you clean and work every damn day while Abigail sits on her ass and the rest of the girls who come in here when the mood hits them do nothin’.Abigail thinks because she went to high school with Link and I that she is the head of the Feral girls when she ain’t shit.
“Carly seems to have made her way back in the clubhouse when she was out bad.Master, pull up the security footage and find out who the fuck let her in here.I want the answer in two minutes.Abigail is the worst offender even though Carly is pullin’ up a close second.Neither one of them know how to listen to a damn thing.This isourfuckin’ club and these skanks think they rule it when we’re not around,” I state, Abigail and Carly visibly paling as I keep my eyes locked on them to make sure they don’t leave the common room because I’m calling them out on their shit.
“Got the footage you want,” Master says, handing me his phone as I press play on the video he’s got ready to show.
The girls who came into the clubhouse today pull up and talk to Evan at the gate.He lets them in after checking the car to make sure it’s just the three of them inside.When he steps back into the gatehouse, Evan opens the gate for them to pull in.I watch as they park the car and get out.Two of the three girls move to the trunk and open it to allow Carly out.She smiles wide and hands over money to the driver of the car.The four girls saunter in the clubhouse as if they own the place.Just like Abigail walks around here.
“The three of you step forward,” I call out as the girls drop their heads down and slowly move forward so I can see them clearly.“You are no longer allowed at the clubhouse for any reason.Especially on party nights.You also aren’t allowed to step foot in any of the club’s businesses.They won’t service you and will kick you out as soon as you step foot through the door.Now get the fuck outta here!”
I don’t say another word as they scream out when Evan, Craig, and James grab onto them and walk them toward the door.Our Prospects didn’t even have to be told what we wanted them to do.These young men truly anticipate all of our needs and do the work without hesitation or question.Luca and Evan are the best of the group by far, but we got really lucky when we chose our Prospects.My dad and grandpa have even made comments about them since they’ve been here this time.Tank has taken Luca under his wing and been working with him when he’s not busy.They’ve formed a strong bond and I’m seriously worried about losing Luca when Tank heads home.It’s a real possibility and one I’ve talked to no one about yet.
“What do you want done with Abigail and Carly?”Manic questions as he steps closer to the girls who have been causing the most trouble in this clubhouse.
“They’re done here.I don’t want to see either one of them ever again.Do any of you want them here?”I ask, knowing this will hurt the girls more than anything else when they hear the guys don’t want anything to do with them.
“No!”is called out from all the members and officers of the club.Even the Prospects speak up and say no.
