She shrugged one shoulder. “Good thing I’m not tall. I’m the perfect size.” She looked at her phone. “I can only spare fifteen minutes before I need to leave.”

I opened my container of food and the disposable cutlery. “Damn, you got a nigga on a timer. I guess I’m going to have to pop up at your job tonight to put eyes on your beautiful ass.”

She sat in the seat on the other side of the table. “Unless you plan to be in the kitchen, you’re not going to see me. I work the line.

“The line? You cook there too?”Damn!

She snickered. “Yes, I cook. Blessing found out that I wanted to go to culinary school, so she told me to cook under the chef for a few days a week. I’m saving up to go now.”

While she talked, I ate the food that she made. I stopped for a moment. “This food is good as hell. You sure you need to go to school? It seems like you’re gifted without the schooling.”

“That’s true, but I want to learn techniques and stuff. Plus, I figured people would trust me more if I had the degree when I started my catering, private chef business.” There was nothing sexier than a woman with a plan.

After I finished the food in my mouth, I responded. “I like that you have a plan and are working toward it. That’s sexy as fuck.”Yeah, she is going to be mine.

“Why, thank you, good sir. You got to have a plan. If I didn’t, then I would be no more than a bum bitch that lived in her vehicle for real.” She had a point.

I looked down at my watch. “Thank God for a plan. Now I know you can be with a nigga. I can’t call you my woman if you don’t have a plan.”

Her perfectly arched brows kissed, then dropped toward her nose. “Sir, you met me yesterday and you’re talking about calling me your woman. A bit much, don’t you think?”

“Nah, not at all, sweetheart. It’s just enough for now. It’s only too much if you don’t want a nigga.” I paused to see what her response would be. Her lack of response was a loud response for me. “Like I said, not too much.”

She shifted in her seat. “Um, I have to go get my baby. Maybe I’ll see you again.”

Look at her ass, nervous. That lil’ pussy is wet.“Yeah, you’re going to see me. Give me your phone number, Bruqlyn.”

“You’re just going to demand my number and not ask? Is that what we’re doing, Euri?” She glared at me like I had all the audacity in the world.

I unlocked my phone and held it out to her because I did. We had a stare off, but her ass took my phone and put her number in it. When she handed it back, I called her. “That’s my number. If you need me, call me. What you got going on tomorrow?”

“I’m off tomorrow, so I’m just going to take my baby to day care so I can work out. After that, I don’t really have plans,” she told me.

Oh, she’s working out tomorrow. She told me that she worked out around six in the morning. I already knew where she worked out, so I didn’t need to ask for that information. “Make sure you’re safe out here, Bruqlyn. I would hate to fuck someone up behind you.”

I grabbed my container to take the rest of my food with me. She fixed my plate like I was a six-hundred-pound man. Before I climbed out, I leaned toward her and kissed her forehead. There was nothing left to say. I’d have something to say the next time I saw her.

Next Morning…

Leota Fitness & Fight

“Thank you, Mr. Westin. We are so happy that you’ve decided to become a premium member. As I told you when we toured, our gym is open twenty-four hours a day, and youhave access to all our premium services. There is nothing like getting a massage or sitting in the sauna after a workout,” the membership coordinator said with her best deal-closer smile. “Oh, and we love our members that pay the annual fee.”

Fucking right, I joined the gym that my future woman went to. Their premium membership wasn’t cheap at all, but after Allison gave me a tour and we went over all the perks, she sold me. Plus, with the membership, you could add a person to your account for free. Eventually, my baby would be that person. If you paid the annual membership fee, you saved almost six hundred dollars a year.

I returned Allison’s smile. “I think I’ll like it here, and I know you like getting all that money upfront. It’s a win-win for both of us.”

After we said a few more words to each other, I went to stretch before I found the machine I wanted to use. It was almost six in the morning, and the gym wasn’t busy at all. I understood why Bruqlyn liked going around that time.

I was about fifteen minutes into my workout when a shadow eclipsed me. I didn’t need to turn to see who it was because her scent told on her. “What’s up, sweetheart?”

“Um, Euri, it’s interesting seeing you here, especially when I never have in the year that I’ve been a member,” she said with skepticism in her voice. “It’s giving stalker vibes.”

I finished the rep that I was on before I turned to look at her. Damn, she looked good in her workout gear. “Stalker vibes? Nah, more like you’re going to be my woman, so we might as well work out together vibes.” I stood from the machine, took the disinfectant wipes that were near it, and wiped it down. “What machine you starting on?”

Her arms went over her body. “Euri, are you crazy? It’s alright, you can tell me. I won’t run… for now anyway.”

I wanted to laugh, but it was a semi-serious question. “I wouldn’t call myself crazy. I can be a little unreasonably insane when it comes to the people I care about. Is that a problem, sweetheart? I don’t want my woman to be scared of me.”
