He nodded his head. “Just let me chop it up with my mama and her husband, and I’ll get you a move in date,” he explained with a nonchalant shrug as if he hadn’t just answered her prayers.
“Kross, you better not be playing with me.”
In turn, he smacked his lips. “C’mon, shawty. I don’t got time to play. I told you what it was. Ain’t shit within my means I can’t do or fix. It’s handled. Now, let go of that stress and enjoy the rest of the night.”
Without any protest, Remedy did just that.
Chapter Twenty-One
Remedy stood behind Kross’ tall frame as he spoke with the front desk receptionist to secure a room at the five-star hotel on the beach calledThe Setai. She tried telling him there was no way he was about to score a room at the luxurious property without booking a reservation in advance, but this nigga’s confidence was out of this fucking world. He worked his smooth-talking mouthpiece to get the lady behind the desk to search high and low within their system to see if there was at least one room available for the night. When he asked if she wanted to continue their night after the wonderful dinner they had, Remedy would have never expected to be pulling up to one of the finest hotels on Miami Beach, but Kross was just that spontaneous.
“Unfortunately, we don’t have any single bedroom suites available for the night. We only have a two-bedroom ocean front suite ready. I’m sorry, sir.”
Kross shook his head as he reached into his pocket for his wallet. “Nah, love. What you apologizing for? We’re two people, ain’t we?” He motioned his finger between himself and Remedy, causing her to suppress her laughter from behind him. “How much that two-bedroom suite going for?”
“$2,679 for the night, including taxes and fees.”
Upon hearing the absurd rate for the one-night stay, Remedy tugged at Kross’ hand so they could hit the exit, but he stayed firm. He opened his wallet and pulled out a card along with his license so the receptionist could secure the room.
“Nigga, is you fucking crazy?” Remedy whispered to him.
Kross laughed as he reached behind him and grabbed her hand to reposition her in front of him. “I ain’t tripping about it,” he said as he shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.
Once the reservation was confirmed, Kross was handed the keys and then led the way to the elevator. Remedy was in awe at the beauty of the hotel and was excited for the night they were going to have in it. Because it was the last accommodation left for the night, they were booked on the thirty-fifth floor. The elevator they hopped on was packed with guests returning to their rooms from whatever plans they had. Kross and Remedy managed to squeeze into the back of the lift since they knew they would be the last to get off.
The elevator ride was filled with light conversation between guests who were recalling how much of an amazing night they had. Kross didn’t care to listen to any of that shit, so he secured his arms around Remedy’s petite waist from behind, craned down to her ear and whispered in it.
“You done with that nigga for real and you not fucking him?”
Back at dinner, she talked about how she was no longer in love with Tone. Kross wasn’t really convinced since it sounded like them motherfuckas still lived together. He ain’t really care for no details or to find out who the nigga was. All he cared about was whether she was still fucking him.
Remedy gulped down and shook her head. “I’m done with him.”
She was lying through her teeth, but it wasn’t like she could help it. She wasn’t physically or sexually attracted to Toneanymore, and the sex was one sided. She didn’t even want to have sex with him, but Tone never took no for an answer, especially when he was high or on lean. The last time Tone slid up in her was their first time doing it in over six months. She knew he was fucking other hoes. He was probably in Chicago fucking somebody right now, so why should she be a fool and block herself from some new dick?
As the elevator ascended, it periodically stopped at different floors, letting people off and on. Kross secured his arms around her tighter as he watched the number on the elevator screen hit 27. They were close but still had some floors to go.
“Take your panties off,” he whispered.
Remedy looked over her shoulder at him with a crazed look. “Right now?” she mouthed at him in complete shock. The elevator still had some guests on there, so the thought of getting caught scared the fuck out of her. He nodded his head in confirmation as he dropped his arms from around her waist so she could rid herself of the thong she was wearing.
As they hit floor 29 and the doors opened again, letting a few people off, Remedy gulped down her nerves and slowly began pulling her thong off. With a satisfied smirk etched on his face, Kross watched her. She was nervous as fuck, but the thrill of it all had her enslaved and anticipating what would happen next. She managed to subtly wiggle her thong down to her ankles, but it got caught on the padlocks of her Tom Ford heels. Her heart was beating against her chest rapidly in fear that someone on the elevator would turn around and see.
Kross noticed the frazzled look on her face. With amusement webbing his eyes, he saved her by knocking her purse out of her hand. By the time her purse hit the elevator floor with a loud thud and grabbed the attention of the other people, Kross had already stepped in front of her and crouched down.
“It’s cool. I got it,” he said, alluding to the purse for everyone else on the elevator, but for Remedy, he alluded to the thong that was caught on her heels. In one swift motion, he grabbed her bag and helped her step out of the thong.
Standing back up, he taunted her with a mannish smirk. He handed her the purse but also held the thong up to his nose and took in a deep whiff right in front of her face. Remedy was stunned by what just happened. She had never experienced anything like it. He stuffed her thong into the pocket of his chino slacks before reclaiming his spot behind her.
Once the elevator chimed at level 35, Remedy led them out, and Kross was right behind her, gawking at the way her ass moved like water in the little black dress she had on. He tapped the key against the sensor of the door, causing the lock to click, and they gained entrance inside the suite. It was Kross’ second time staying at The Setai, but last time, he got the pool villa for him and Cassie. Now that his money was longer, he was up on the 35th floor in a two-bedroom ocean front suite with Remedy.
“Oh, my God! This shit is so nice!” Remedy gushed as she gave herself a tour of the suite.
“It is,” he agreed while following her around the suite.
“Alright, so which room you taking?” she giggled while jokingly insinuating they would be sleeping in two different rooms.
A loud scoff aired out of Kross as he shook his head. “Shawty, stop fucking playing with me.”
