I choked, little dribbles of water running down my chin as I managed to swallow and then cough a few times. My sweet Viper set to rubbing my back until I got myself under control. “I'm sorry, did you just say Sloane was cutting up my steak?”

Fish flashed me a grin. “I did indeed say that. He's like a new man.”

“Don't give Sloaney Baloney too much credit. He had to play rock, paper, scissors with both me and Cam to get the honors,” Kai announced, moving through the room with that air of grace that only he could pull off.

Just then, Bram, Cam, and Sloane joined us.

“Here you go, baby girl,” Cam said, placing my plate on my lap and pressing a quick kiss to my forehead.

“Thank you,” I replied, smiling at my huge blond mate. By the stars, he was sexy as hell. I watched his eyes darken, as though he knew exactly what I was thinking.

“Goldie, I thought perhaps the asparagus is what caused your illness earlier. It did smell strongly, so I had Joanne package a salad as well. If you'd prefer that over this, just say the word,” Bram explained casually, like this level of attentiveness was something that every woman was lucky enough to receive.

“Daddy vibes,” Faris announced, throwing his arm over the back of the couch. I threw my head back and laughed because he was so right.

“Looks like you have some competition, Thunder Daddy,” Kai teased, with a wink at Cam.

“Well, you'll all be daddies soon enough, so don't tease him too much,” I said, taking a bite of potato and then glancing up when all sounds of ribbing and joking ceased. It was suddenly so quiet that I could hear the crickets outside. Literal crickets.

“I'm sorry, what did you just say?” Fischer asked, his mouth slightly ajar.

Son of a bee sting. My cheeks burned as I looked around the room, each of their faces displaying an array of emotions that ranged from shock to hope to fear.

“Oh my gods, you're pregnant?” Cam's words rushed out in a harsh, strangled voice. He put his plate on the table and squeezed himself down on the ground next to me, his hands on my thighs. “Is it true, little witch?” His emerald green eyes glittered with love and tears. When I nodded, he buried his face in my lap, his shoulders trembling.

“I'm going to have a cub? Holy shit, where are we going to put it?” Kai whispered.

“Sweetheart, this is amazing. I love you so much,” Fischer cooed, reaching for my hand.

“We'll need to make a list immediately. Oh, a registry. That's what we need. I'll pull up Target right now. My sister always raves about their baby section,” Kai rambled, jumping up and pacing as he tapped away at his phone.

“Goldie girl,” Bram rasped, as he wiped his cheek. “When did you find out?” He and Sloane were standing now, Kai pacing between them.

“Only a couple of days ago,” I lied. Technically, I'd suspected since I’d found the drawing at Miranda's burned house, but I was considering the conversation with Vaeryn to be the official moment.

“I want to deliver the baby,” Faris piped up, and Sloane was quick to kill that idea.

“She will deliver the baby in a hospital. Where it's safe,” Sloane said, his tone final.

I lifted my eyebrows.Excuse me mister, but I think we'll be having a discussion about all of that.

Everyone was talking now, the food forgotten. I ran my hand through Cam's hair. He hadn't budged from my lap yet and I didn't want to rush him.

I wasn't sure what I'd expected their reactions to be, but I hadn't even revealed the most important part yet. A break in the talking finally came, and I cleared my throat.

“There's two. Babies. We're having twins.”

“Twins?” I choked out, lifting my head to look at Saige. I was barely able to breathe with the amount of joy I felt exploding in my chest.

A loud thump sounded behind me, and Faris flew off the couch like a bat out of hell. “Oh my gods, demon down!” he shouted, dropping to the floor.

“He fainted? Shit, pull me out of this corner,” Saige asked, holding her hands out. The moment she was up, she was kneeling with Faris over a very pale Bram.

“Cubs,” Kai said dreamily, a dopey smile on his face. He glanced at me, and we shared a look that said more than words ever could.

“I can't believe he passed out.” Sloane snorted, shaking his head.

Saige gave him a look that could've shriveled a man's nuts. “It's a big deal, Sloane.”
