Her smile was soft, the kind only reserved for me.“No pretending.”
I took a deep breath before dropping onto one knee in the snow. Her eyes widened, and she covered her mouth with her other hand.
“Elsie Feran,” I began, “I never imagined that a couples photoshoot with a stranger would result in me falling in love. I never imagined that I would find someone so special, so perfect, sorightfor me. But here you are.” A single tear slipped down her cheek. “Elsie, I love you with all my heart, and I want to love you for the rest of my life.” I paused, willing the emotion to leave my voice so I could finish. “My love, my sunshine…will you marry me?”
A laughing sob broke out of her, and she flung herself at me, tackling me to the ground. We rolled together, like two kids playing in the snow. I wiped my fingers across her cheeks, staring into those brown eyes that I loved so much.
“Is that a yes?” I asked, bringing my lips to hover right above hers.
Her hand cupped my cheek, and she gave me a smile that made my knees weak. “There’s nothing I’d rather do, Jameson, than spend forever loving you. That’s a yes.”
I couldn’t hold back my grin as I pulled the ring box out of my pocket and popped it open. Elsie took off her glove, gaping as I slipped the ring onto her finger. It was a perfect fit.
I tucked her hair behind one ear before I tugged her forward and pressed my lips to hers. “I love you, Elsie.”
She smiled. “I love you, Jameson.”
I rubbed my thumbs over her cheeks and said, “Now, prepare to be thoroughly kissed.”
