I shrug and nod. “It was someone who was asking me by name. No biggy.”

Vlad chuckles. “You think it’s not a big deal until you are in the back of some dude’s van looking for a motel room.”

“What did he sound like?” Sergei demands.

“I don’t know,” I answer honestly.

Sergei and Vlad start looking around the yacht to see if they can see anyone coming after them in the darkness of night. There isn’t anyone that we can see that is present, but that doesn’t mean anything.

“Who do you think it was?” I ask.

Sergei’s shoulders bounce up and down as he tries to work through his feelings about something. Suddenly, he bashes his hand down and it startles me making me squeal.

“What did you say?”

My back tenses and I back up a little. Vlad looks on as if he doesn’t see what is about to happen between my husband and I. Sergei’s hand is raised in the air, just as quickly as he raised it, he slaps me across the face.

The sting of his hand is enough to make me cry out. “I didn’t say anything. The person just said my name,” I answer as calmly as possible.

Over the past couple of weeks, Sergei’s temper has gotten worse and worse. I have no idea what is happening in his business and I don’t want to know what is happening. The man is becoming more and more like a ticking time bomb.

He mutters something under his breath. I want to ask him what he is saying, but I know that it isn’t the time to ask. Instead, I spin on my feet and walk back into the kitchen. Anything to get away from Sergei and Vlad.

“Now, you were saying you wanted to attack. Are you sure?” Vlad asks.

“What the hell are you doing?” Frank hisses from behind me.

I have loved Frank since the moment I have met the man. He is extremely gay and doesn’t care who knows it and he is the biggest gossip I have ever met in my life. He is also one of the only friends I have left since marrying Sergei. Sergei hated all of my other friends which made it almost impossible to keep them.

Frank’s golden brown hair and golden brown eyes shine from the fluorescent lights.

I shake my head as I listen to the conversation being played out.

“You are so dumb. You shouldn’t be listening to them!”

I have to find out what has Sergei so stressed out. Plus, my cheek still stings.
