“Where is my boy?”
His gaze collided with Eden’s.
“Surprise?”
“How did you get them here so fast?”
“Mom and Dad took the jet.”
El and Eden lived so modestly that Kap sometimes forgot that they were the children of billionaires.
“Don’t be mad.”
“Not mad.” He smiled and shook his head. “Thank you.”
She smiled. “I love you, Kapone Hanson.”
“Remember that once you meet my mama.”
She was laughing when she kissed him.
Epilogue
Kap brought the last box of his belongings into Eden’s house.
No. Their house. They were going to build a life here together. It was fast, he knew that, but once you realized you loved a person and that you would always love that person, you wanted to start your life right away. Also, near-death experiences tend to make you look at things differently.
“What a self-satisfied look,” Ian said from the kitchen, sarcasm dripping from his voice.
He smiled at Eden’s partner. While Kap didn’t go back to work for another ten days, Ian had taken less than a week off. TFH had kept them all updated on the tangled web of murders linked to Marv. Other than taking the hits, Marv seemed to be working alone. He used people to help him, but the killing, well, he liked doing that himself.
“Do I look smug?”
“You do.”
“Well, there’s a reason.”
Ian crossed his arms over his chest. “And what would that be?”
“I’m starting my life with the love of my life.”
Ian rolled his eyes, but even when he did, Kap got the feeling that he was happy for them.
“I hear you’re going to Vegas,” he said, setting the box down on the coffee table.
“Yeah. Family trip, which should be interesting since that has never been something this family has done before.”
“So your father and Adam’s mom aren’t eloping?”
Ian’s eyes widened, startled. “No. What makes you ask that?”
No reason other than to screw with him. The entire TFH team still got a kick out of the former spy master romancing Adam Lee’s mom.
He shrugged. “I do know your sister has some kind of other plan.”
“My sister always has another plan. Seth doesn’t know what kinds of headaches she is going to give him.”
“I have a feeling my captain knows about the headaches and doesn’t care.” No, he loved the crazy woman. “So, you aren’t meeting up with someone in particular?”
