“When can I meet her?”she asks.

I grab my pen and pad and write as I speak.“Here’s hernumber.Call her.Her name’s Clara.”

“Thank you.”

After finishing my pie, I push the container away.

“How was it?”

I uncross her legs and step between them, wrapping my armsaround her waist.

“Delicious.Thank you.”

“That’s all I get, ‘thank you’?”

“What more do you need?”I ask.

“Why don’t you come closer and I’ll show you?”

I stare into her eyes, gently stroking her cheek with mythumb.

“Have I told you how beautiful you are?”

“You have, but that’s a compliment a girl never gets tiredof hearing.”

She slides her palm to the back of my neck and pulls my headdown to hers. Her moan sends my heart pounding in my ears. Her taste isintoxicating. As a wolf, it’s impossible for me to get drunk, but I imaginethis is what it probably feels like.

“Ow!”

I pull back, frightened I’ve hurt her without evenrealizing.“Did I hurt you?”

“Your gun.”

Removing my duty belt, I drop it in my chair before steppingbetween her legs once more. She wraps them around me, pulling me against her asI press my lips to hers. Her lips are soft beneath mine, as sweet as the day islong. The scent of her arousal is driving me crazy.

“You’re wet.”

“Why don’t you find out?”she whispers.

It wasn’t a question, honey. There’s nothing in theworld I want to do more, but I can’t, not with the audience outside. The boyshave already gotten quite an earful.

“No, not here.”

I pull away reluctantly and look down at her disappointedexpression.

“You’re right.I’m gonna go.”Her gaze falls to my waist asI clip my belt back into place.“You, Sheriff, are gonna give yourself aserious case of blue balls.”

I look down at the bulge in my pants and chuckle.She’sright.

“Will I see you tonight?”she asks.

“I can’t tonight. The boys and I have some business to tendto.”

“Okay, no problem.”She begins to gather the empty containersand looks up at me with a cheeky smile.“I already have a date anyway.”

“The hell you do!With who?”

She giggles at my outburst and walks off.At the door, sheturns back to me with a grin.
