His ears actually droop, and oh my gosh. When he says, “Sorry, honey,” it makes me want to kiss his little nose and start this all over again.

“It’s okay. All worth it. And tomorrow when I wake up...” I smother a yawn and try again. “Tomorrow, when we wake up, we have to try this out in your other form.”

“Can’t wait.”

“Well, you don’t have to wait for long. It’s almost two in the morning.”

Bogdan lifts his head in surprise and follows my gaze to the digital alarm clock on my desk. “How the heck did that happen?”

“Time flies when you’re having fun.”

“So time and I have something in common, huh?” He flexes one wing.

“Oh, my gosh. Bogdan Lupescu. You’re too young to make dad jokes.”

“Hey, if I’m practicing for my honeymoon, maybe I should also practice for fatherhood. Plus, with nine kids in my family, you know my dad is themasterof bad dad jokes.” He smirks.

He looks so sexy like that. I kind of like that hint of sharp teeth. “Okay, okay. One more bad dad pun, and then we get some sleep—so we can wake up and do this all over again.”

“Hmm. Well, if I only get one more, it’s gotta be the best one. Kelly Maria Theresa Carlotta Venga-Comanda—I’m just batty about you.”

I groan and bop him with a pillow. “You’re lucky I love you.”

“I know I am.” He swipes the pillow and bops me back.

Before long, things have devolved into a pillow fight with kisses. And then kisses with other things.

“I think sleep is overrated,” Bogdan pants, pulling me into his arms once again.

“I agree—and that’s why we’re perfect for one another,” I sigh. “Wanna know a secret that’s not really a secret?”

“Always.”

“I’m batty about you, too.”
