Marissa nearly dropped her armful of snacks as she turned a wide-eyed swoon on Addison. “Oh my gosh. That is too cute!”
Addison’s heart fluttered like the first time he’d professed his love for her. She rushed to the bedroom to meet him and stopped in her tracks.
He stood in front of the bed, bare as a babe, his giant cock swinging between his legs. As she watched, her jaw open in surprise, the enormous thing began to stand at attention. She glowered at him and snatched the blanket from the bed to toss it at his groin.
“Marissa’s here!” she hissed.
“Then close your pretty mouth.” He chuckled.
When the blanket was situated like a loincloth around his waist, he pulled her close and kissed her deeply. Then he promptly picked up the mattress and carried it through the doorway.
“Traeyr!” Marissa exclaimed. “It’s so good to finally meet you!”
“And you,” Traeyr replied. They exchanged an awkward hug and then something else—something mischievous—passed between Addison’s closest friends. “I trust you are prepared?”
“I am!”
Addison peered between the two of them, her two favorite people in the world who clearly had some explaining to do. “What’s going on?”
“Follow me!” Marissa sing-songed and skipped to the sliding doors that led to the porch, Traeyr following behind with the mattress.
The porch was brightly lit with fairy lights and elegant decorations, including a garland of paper butterflies that cast an enchanting shadow across the wall.
Traeyr plopped the mattress down and reached for her hands. Dazed, she accepted them and turned her narrow-eyed gaze to her best friend.
“Is someone going to explain what’s happening right now?”
Marissa giggled and shared another weird look with Addison’s fiancé. “Well. Traeyr called me the other day—”
“You used myphone? Without supervision?”
His chin tilted upward, obviously proud of himself.
“He planned all of this. When you thought I left, I ran out here and tossed it all into motion. But the credit all goes to your amazing man right here, who loves you so much it’s honestly gross.”
Traeyr sneered at her, but Marissa only laughed. Addison’s stomach continued its rampant acrobat routine and she started to lean in for a hug, but Traeyr held her in place.
“There’s more,” he said and beckoned to Marissa.
“He knew you want to get married, but the logistics of that are…difficult. So I got ordained!” She gestured around the beautiful porch. “Welcome to your wedding!”
Addison’s throat closed around whatever she would have said next. Tears welled up in her eyes, which Traeyr immediately lapped up. She swatted him away and slammed against him, squeezing tight.
“I love you,” she blubbered.
“I love you, too, dear dreamer.”
Marissa cleared her throat. “Okay, let’s do this!”
After everyone had gushed over Addison’s enchanting ring—which featured a jewel-encrusted alexandrite butterfly and a twisting band of rose gold—and once there was no cake nor cheese left, they said their goodbyes. Marissa was the last to leave, giving both Addison and Traeyr a tight embrace.
No one had found it odd that the mattress was in the living room since they’d literally moved in today. It was fulfilling to have her old friends back and the love of her life by her side, but now she wanted nothing more than to snuggle and make love with her demon mate.
She knew Traeyr had been thinking the same thing for the past hour by the dark looks he kept sending her way, full of heat and desire. He wasted no time in moving the mattress back out to the porch, pausing to admire the ocean, the lapping tide and the sedated depths that blended into the dark night sky.
“It’s beautiful,” Addison whispered as she entwined her arm in his and nuzzled against his furry bicep. “I’m so glad you’re here with me.”
Traeyr purred, a deep and masculine sound from within his chest. He pulled her close and caressed her cheek, sending a quiver through her body that she now associated with his touches.
