Will I see the biker again today? Should I be this excited about it? Christ, what is wrong with me?

“You’re thinking about him again, aren’t you?” I couldn’t hide the guilty look on my face if I tried.

One cause Val knows me better than herself, and two, I don’t want to deny it.

“It’s the first exciting thing to happen to me. Ever.” I shrug and fill my mouth with sugary sweetness and moan.

“Mmhmm, I heard that sound through my wall. If you ever bring someone home, I’m gonna need earplugs, cause if a dream can get you screaming like that, the real thing is going to shatter your soul.” I chew and point my fork at her.

“It was a really good dream.” We giggle as we finish our food.

“Ok, I was thinking that we should go to the clinic after class. We both need birth control as a backup.” I raise an eyebrow in thought as I pack up my bag.

“That makes sense, and the adult thing to do. Alright.” She seems surprised that I agreed.

“Did I ruin your prepared argument, counselor?” I tease her as we start walking downstairs.

We’re both studying Law, so arguing is our thing.

“You did, but I’ll let it slide.” We reach the first floor and come to a halt.

The building is crawling with police, and they aren’t letting anyone leave.

“What’s going on?” Val asks one of her sorority sisters.

“We had a break-in.” She points over to the wall behind the stairwell, and I gasp.

Spray-painted in white and navy blue is the skull that was on the biker’s jacket with six words under it.

I’m coming for you.

You’re mine.

“Holy shit,” Val says, clutching my arm.

“Are you sure you were in that room alone last night?” I can’t seem to speak or blink, for that matter.

“Yes?” I say, finally, more of a question than an answer, though.

“Ladies,” An officer comes up to us with a notebook in hand, ready to take our statements.

“Did you witness anything strange last night or this morning?” I shake my head.

“What floor do you live on?” Val took over the statement as I stared at the wall again.

It was a dream, right?

As soon as we’re cleared to leave and we’re far enough away from the sorority house, I pull Val into a secluded area and pull the collar of my shorts to the side.

“Do I have a bite mark on my neck or back?” She frowns but moves closer to look.

“Oh my god.” I feel her fingers touch the exact same spot I felt the bite in my dream.

“Gen,” I nod and swallow hard.

“I think I need the clinic more than class.”
