Page 26 of Dominating Sean

“India thinks we need to do more to understand whatever’s going on with Declan,” Sean said, turning and backing his car out of the garage at his office, heading back to Moss Agency. In his rearview mirror, he saw the rest of the Moss Agency detail climb into an SUV and follow them. Enzo stretched, and settled his big hand on Sean’s thigh. Sean wondered—for the four-thousandth time—what the fuck was going on between them and where it was leading.

“Do you think something’s going on with Declan? Or is he a psychotic lone wolf?” Enzo asked, slipping his hand over Sean’s dick. He considered that part of Sean his personal property, and it was. Enzo could touch his cock wherever he liked, whenever he liked, and Sean had given him that permission, as well as free use of his ass.

Sean tried to focus on the conversation, ignoring that Enzo had started a little toy buzzing inside him with a swipe of his thumb across his phone. He breathed out a slow breath.

“Honestly? I don’t know. I thought he had gotten out of the family chaos, the bullshit with his father. But maybe not. Or maybe they dragged him back in.” A shiver of nerves crawled up his spine as he pulled into the Moss Agency parking garage, and a shiver of something else from the toy inside his ass.

Enzo smirked and switched it off. There was no longer any sign that a bomb had gone off there. He wondered what had it been about this location that had inspired Declan to attack here. Perhaps he’d been driving around all day with a bomb in his car, and that was when Declan had pressed the button. He glanced around as they climbed out of the car, and Enzo stopped to settle his hand on Sean’s back.

“We’re safe,” Enzo said, leaning in to kiss Sean on the forehead. That touch was something Enzo had been doing more and more: gentle, loving touches. Touches that were about more than sex. Of course, Enzo was about sex too, because he wasn’t a completely different man. He pulled Sean close for a moment and held him, waiting for the tension to leave Sean’s body. Enzo stepped back. “How’s that toy in your ass?”

“I feel ready to take your cock, if that’s what you’re asking,” Sean said. Enzo chuckled as he held open the door to the building and waved Sean in, glancing up as they climbed the stairs to the reception area.

“Ah, fuck, Moss is greeting us. I wanted to see India.” Sean had wanted to see India too, but Spencer Moss was stalking across the lobby, a frown marring his perfect features. He greeted them with a grim expression and showed him into Declan’s cell. Outside, Moss stopped, shoving his hands in his pockets and looking down.

“India can’t find the evidence we need to tie this to your uncles, and they denied it when approached, of course. They don’t seem to know that we have Declan, but we’ve intercepted some messages about Freya, so we think they have her. They’ll realize it soon, and we expect things to escalate again then.”

Enzo crossed his arms over his chest. “So we set a trap.”

Moss nodded. “When Sean put a restraining order on them, we think that pushed them to pull Declan back into the fold and force him to comply, though we’re not sure why he won’t tell us the plan. Usually people comply with me.”

This statement made Enzo snicker. “Is that tough? Finding people who won’t do what you say?”

Moss rolled his eyes. “Right, well. Hijinks is all that’s left.”

“What do the police think about the bomb?” Sean asked.

Moss’s eyes darted around. “He didn’t call the police,” Enzo said.

“The bomb may or may not have revealed some things that we don’t want the police looking too closely at. And I’m not sure we want Declan behind bars yet. But not to worry, we are better than the police.”

“Seriously, I hired a security agency that won’t call the police if I get shot at?” Sean gave a frustrated growl and pulled open the door to the holding cell, pushing inside. Enzo followed him, stopping to lean against the door. He fiddled with his phone like he didn’t have a care in the world as Sean stared down at his cousin. His cousin was a fucking science teacher. Wasn’t he? How was he holding out for this kind of interrogation?

“I don’t get why you won’t tell them what they need to take Carstairs and Logan down.” Sean looked around the locked cell with the small bed and bathroom area. Why a security agency would need a secure holding cell like this one, Sean hadn’t bothered to ask. “We know it’s them. All we need is some evidence to pull them in. Unless there’s no one else, and you have them all hoodwinked.”

His cousin was obviously stressed, pacing the room like he was on drugs, and Sean wanted to tackle the man to the ground to get him to sit still. They were all so sure that there was someone behind Declan’s actions, but Sean wasn’t so convinced. Maybe he was tired of being a fucking middle school science teacher and wanted to take over the family business. He stared at his cousin, whom he had once loved like a brother, trying to figure out what was up.

“I’m not protecting anyone,” Declan said, still on edge and wired. “What is this? Why haven’t they put me in jail?”

Sean sighed. “Because India is determined to find out what the mystery is with you. Is there actually a mystery, or are you stringing her along with dark, angst-filled looks?”

“India, the one who has a thing for you?” Declan asked, and Sean’s breath caught.

“She doesn’t have a thing for me.”

Declan snorted. “She used the words ‘a little in love,’ actually.” Declan didn’t look at Sean as he spoke, and Sean couldn’t figure out if that was a distraction or the truth, or both.

“Deck, focus on the question. If someone is in trouble, these people can help. Is it Freya?” Sean hadn’t seen Declan’s sister in years. She had been a wild child, in and out of rehab facilities, always getting into some kind of newer, darker scene, and Sean had never known why. Hell, he had never known why Declan had gotten so fucked up, either, but Declan had pulled out of it. Declan had been on the straight and narrow for years.

“No one can help,” Declan said, finally sitting on the bed, covering his face with his hands. “I’ve fucked it all up too badly, and I can’t do shit from this cell. Just take me to jail and leave me there.” But beneath that, Sean started to feel that Declan’s sister could be in trouble after all.

“We can help Freya. We can get her out of whatever kind of situation she has found herself in, okay?” Sean said insistently, but Declan ignored him and stared at the floor.

“They need to let me go or put me in jail. Isn’t it illegal to hold me like this?”

“I don’t think the Moss siblings are particularly worried about legalities.” Sean crossed his arms over his chest. He wanted to reach out to his cousin, to make things better, but he wasn’t sure what would help if Declan insisted on being this stubborn.

Declan sat for a few more minutes, looking dejected, and Sean sighed and pushed back through the door, finding India and Enzo standing in the hall. “We got that,” Enzo said. “Moss will look into the sister. Want to go back to your place and fuck?”
