“Hmm? Like what?”

“You can kiss me again,” I said. “We can work from there.”

He canted his head and pressed his lips against mine, and the kiss was soft, sweet, and innocent. I played along and studied him as he pulled back a bit. “Like that?”

“Mm. I give that a five out of ten.”

“Oh, would you?” He tilted his head. I nodded. “Then let’s try again.”

His lips were on mine, starting slow, but a moment later his tongue licked at me and when I opened for him, he snaked in and stroked against mine. He tasted like the strawberries and champagne we’d had downstairs.

Wrapping my hands around his waist, I pulled him in nice and tight—and I could feel him plumping up behind the fly of his pants. I slipped my hands into the waistband and down, and grabbed myself two handfuls of his delightful ass.

I squeezed, gently and he let out a slow breath as he continued to kiss me. I did it again, and this time he moaned into my mouth.

“Christ,” he managed. “I have seriously been denying myself.”

“You’ve never done anything, ever?”

“Not with a guy, no,” he answered honestly. “I got close to getting a bj once…but the band walked in on us.”

Oh, my. “Really? Not even in high school?”

“I didn’t figure out that I was gay until I was seventeen. I dated girls right up until graduation night.”

I smirked, running my hand over the smooth skin of his butt cheeks. I was very much taken by his perfect tight ass. “Oh, do tell…”

He coughed and looked mortified.

I bopped his nose. “That right there. That’s how I know you’re not ready to step out as gay. Tell me anyway. I want to know about you.”

“I was dating Kimmy, for just about two years,” he said quietly. “And that night at her graduation party, her older brother Kenny hada lotto drink. He found me in his bedroom looking at his books, and kicked the door closed. He looked at me like I was a bonbon and he was looking for a snack. God, that look turned me on so much…” He paused and looked a little distant. “I was hard. Just that look alone sprang me. He backed me against the door and wanted to know why I was still playing for the wrong team. His fingers trailed over my dick and I was a puddle of goo. I almost came in my pants right there.

“I absolutely came when he kissed me. Kissing Kimmy had always been…nice. But Kenny’s kiss just set me on fire. He chuckled when he realized I’d come from his very, very thorough kiss and offered me a clean pair of pants if I promised to think about changing teams for real.

“How could I not? He and I met up for a few heavy petting sessions that summer, but it was always hurried and hidden and never went more than a dick in the hand. Kimmy caught us once, and she laughed. Both Kenny and I were terrified—but she swore she would never tell. She never has.”

“What happened to Kenny?”

“He married Jennifer Tulamet.”

I laughed. “So, who was playing for the wrong team?”

“Oh, he’s in the closet, deeper than me. His parents went super religious after his mother had a vision and dragged them all into the cradle of the Lord. He just learned to deny that part of himself.”

“Damn,” I hissed.

“At least I’ve never denied it,” he whispered. “I just never do anything about it.”

The sound of his words as he whispered them was heartbreaking. This man standing here just wanted to be loved for who he was.

“Will your parents be okay with you coming out?”

“Don’t have any,” he said. “They died. Mom ten years ago and Dad three. It’s just me and my siblings against the world.”

“How old are they?”

“Aubrey? She’s thirty. Married. Two kids. Austin is in college.”
